Does anyone know what the size would be if I went with a slightly wider tire. I have the standard 16" wheels (that all Vibes seem to get that surface rust on) with 205/55 tires. My Camry has 205/65's as original, but I use 215/60's.
btw all the work was done at no charge.. How did you manage to have all this work done and not pay anything at all ??? FYI... Juniors Blue 2009 Vibe GT had the front pads & rotors changed @ 40k miles and we were just informed that the rears will need to be done before winter. That will put him ...
Bought the '09 Vibe a few months back and before the car left the dealership, the rotors on the front had to be replaces as the braking was horrid for a car with 51,000 miles on the clock. Then last month the rears started making noise and the rotors and pads were replaced today. Surprised that the ...
Have an appointment with the GM dealer next week who sold the car to us. I also have a case opened with the NHTSB. So we'll see what happens - I'm hoping this won't turn into a worse SNAFU - just don't trust the dealerships too much.
The new Vibe is great! Lots of compliments and here is a picture after three coatings of Mother's carnauba wax. One thing though is the gas pedal/accelerator is way too sensitive - I barely touch the pedal and the car is spinning gravel in my driveway. And 1/4 push on the gas pedal kicks down the tr...
I just waxed the Camry that tomorrow is getting new struts and some bushing work. Don't really like anyone working on my cars, but I'm a bit out of whack physically since an accident some years ago lol.
I have the 10W-30 Pennzoil this summer in my similar Toyota's 5sfe engine from '01. As triz says - stay with the manufacture's recommendations - especially on fluids. Like the fancy coolant my-new-to-me '09 Vibe uses. Pontiac/Toyota is asking for 5W-20 in the Vibe. I had been using the owners manual...
Well - that's good you were able to get off the road and find a tow. :D I had the same thing happen once on a trip, and found out the next day that the car needed a new camshaft plus the other parts for that kind of job. Very frustrating and not much fun - but I learned to keep my oil changed after ...
OK foamy -- since your thread started with redundant questions to begin with - could you at least let everyone reading your thread know what the bottom line is/was on your engine problem?
Perhaps you were running with no air in the engine lol.
If you're lucky though, you may find $90.00 in cash while looking through one of the manuals ! Only YOU would have found that cash :o I'm definitely going to be more careful where I lay any loose $$$ around. :D I still laugh when I think of that ! For those that weren't in Pontiac... Tim ...
I saw here in sw pa that advanced auto parts had bought a small fleet of '09 or '10 plain white Vibes to deliver parts. All white with no roof rack or lip and they look like an egg going down the road. I can tell without further reading here that the matrix and the vibe are/were very influential on ...
My research showed in the $11500 range - with all the service records and a free CarFax report. Interestingly, when I first put the brakes on during the test drive - the pedal was mushy and there was a hint of grinding, like when a set of pads have about 100 miles left on them lol. The salesman, who...
Thanks for the replies! That is a nice one we found. I remember that 'spread' of Pontiac's in your signature. Nice! What is the one in the middle? I will be around probably in the brakes forum looking for an answer on a fairly mushy brake pedal. New rotors, maybe they just need to bed in with the pa...
Hello I'm back! Took me awhile though until the time presented itself to get a nice Vibe in the family. That's for the wife to drive and for me to wash and wax and maintain lol. I had a 2009 rental I was gonna buy three years ago but was recalled back to Toyota and got lost in the shuffle. We've bee...
