I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe. Some months ago, before Takata declared bankruptcy, I received a card in the mail indicating that my car is affected by the Takata airbag issue, but that I wasn't being issued a recall yet. The recall would be forthcoming and I was to be watching for it. Then Takata went ...
Rayven01 thanks for the reply. That information is quite helpful. Trying to find that kind of info about suppliers seems difficult. For example, I did encounter the Timkin made parts, but I read on another forum a review from a user who had tried 3 different makes of a specific part, one being Timki...
Hello I'm looking to replace one of my rear hub assemblies on my 2009 Pontiac Vibe and I'm finding a lot of choices at a wide price range. What I'd like to know is how to choose a quality part. I've read a couple of posts here and there that swear by OEM parts and they're worth the extra money (in t...
Mine was doing fine again for several months (since early Summer). This week, we had a very damp, 40-degree-ish weather spell after a long much colder, drier spell. And suddenly, the problem is back. I'll have to get in there and clean the connections and see if that clears it up.
I wanted to tell to all of you guys that my problem seemed to be "gone". I really need to knock HARD on wood, I hope I won't have another flashing lights episode this fall... But normally, my VSC/SENSATRAC problem would occur during the late spring/summer/early fall... When the weather is...
You can put a screw driver and press down vertically, like the original annotation. Like I said, for me, I had to take off the grey case so I could work with the black connector within. I to end up tapping the black connector to loosen it before removal. They were gentle taps. Yes, the black connec...
This was my method: There is a tab on the top and bottom of the grey outer case, marked in black is the upper. Once that outer case is off, you will need to unplug the connector. I kept tapping the black connector with a screwdriver to loosen the dust built up inside. Then pressed the release tab o...
Plugs are behind the hub in the center. It took me awhile to get to looking at this, but I finally did. I found the connectors. It looks like this: http://codekinesis.mine.nu/images/etc/sensorconn1.jpg http://codekinesis.mine.nu/images/etc/sensorconn2.jpg What I can't figure out is how to open it w...
Hello.... I had the same problem on my 09 GT. The pins and plug had corrosion on them. I put toilet bowl cleaner on a cue tip and applied to both...I let set for a few minutes then sprayed water to clean out along with blowing out with air. I then applied die electoto protect from possibly happenin...
OK that makes sense. If you went to dealer service for a new pair of socks, they'd also sell you a new pair of shoes because the shoes have to be replaced to get to the socks. I think I'll go back and ask them specifically what they're quoting on changing.
The Vibe repair manual can be had from http://www.helminc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for $200, or do what I did and subscribe to techinfo.toyota.com for a couple days for $15 and print off the matrix repair manual to PDF. Time consuming to save hundreds of PDFs one...
That seems high, list price online (which is usually close to what Dealers charge) is $250 per sensor... Here they are at GMPartsCenter.net for $155 apiece. Maybe your quote includes labor? Still seems high at typical labor rates unless it's significantly harder than it sounds. Thanks for the respo...
Can the sensor and/or the harness be user replaced at a significant cost savings, or no? My dealer told me the sensor alone is over 500 bucks so I'm thinking perhaps not...
My 2009 Pontiac Vib, at just over 50K miles, contracted this problem where VSC OFF flashes, and BRAKE, traction warning, and ABS are all steady on. I let it go for a couple of weeks to make sure it wasn't something silly like the gas cap not on tight. I also tried resetting the electronics (unpluggi...
