Re: Still on the hunt - '04 & '06

I'll have to read up on cargurus. It was showing that car as a good deal $1,400 below market of $13,600. Our area must have pent up demand, a low supply, or both. Most of the prices in a 200 mile area for '09-10 vibes are crazy.

Re: Still on the hunt - '04 & '06

Was hopeful to make a deal on a local '09 base 2.4l with the power package, but it was not to be. It had the radio replaced, new brakes, and tires. It had a small front end wreck with minor cracked damage on the bumper cover under the right headlight which caused the bumper cover, right fender and h...

Re: Still on the hunt - '04 & '06

Saw the hail damaged Vibe in person and nixed it. The damage extended past the hood area and would be noticeable once polished. Along with tires, PCM and possible alignment, it was better to pass as they wouldn't negotiate down. I may look at other hatchbacks as some car models do seem to be rare an...

Re: Still on the hunt - '04 & '06

I ran a carfax and see the '06 has an open recall on the PCM module. Will GM dealers still will service the recall?

Still on the hunt - '04 & '06

I'm still on the prowl for a Vibe and wanted your opinion on the following car listed on a licensed dealer's lot where private parties can list their car. Listed at 6k, but can make an offer. What do you think? Thanks, Chris. Based on the website's description: "The AutoCheck Report shows 2 own...

Re: Looking at a couple used Vibes - Price too good?

I appreciate all of the guidance. If the PCM issue could impact and wreck transmissions and drivetrains on 2005-2008 models, it is best to avoid this range completely and either pick 2009-2010 or 2004? Depending on the age of the vehicle, I should try and locate a one with two owners or less as thre...

Re: Looking at a couple used Vibes - Price too good?

I'm now seeing conflicting pricing information comparing their revised Craigslist ad versus their website. I think they made an initial typo and are now fixing it to $4,995. Now I can't tell if it's auto or manual. Does one of the VIN digits represent manual versus auto?

Looking at a couple used Vibes - Price too good?

Greetings all, I'm looking at a '05 base Vibe with manual transmission and 153k miles. The carfax is clean with 3 owners. The 1st was a corporate fleet and the next two are personal. The last owner had it since '07. It's listed for $2,000 without pictures so I'd have to stop by the dealer to see the...
