Re: Large touch screen radio worth it?

I might take the gamble! Over on the Facebook page someone mentioned those tablet based units could have malware or viruses preinstalled so I might do a little extra research. I’m the first private owner of my vibe. I picked it up from a company called Cardinal Heath where my grandfather in-law work...

Large touch screen radio worth it?

Has anyone tried one of these $150~ Android touch screen based stereos? I like that it has a customized bezel with it. I don’t want to waste my money if it’s actually junk or only lasts a few months. There’s a variety of them out there. Some with larger screens, smaller screens and even this one wit...

2008 factory sub swap?

I picked up a sub, plastic box, and the plastic trim at the yard last month. I connected it to a 200 watt 2 channel amp. I sound deadened the box to help some of the muddy sounding base I was hearing. I always stuffed some poly fill in it. Which helped. I’m wondering if swapping out to a different 6...

Re: Vibration even after three sets of tires and alignment HELP

Wheel bearing(s)or axle maybe? Does the car make more road noise than most cars? Wheel bearings can act a little like bad tires in some ways. If it’s rotors you’d feel it when breaking, so it’s likely not it. All the wheel studs and lug nuts are present?

What happened to my front control arm bushing?

Hey everybody. I took this picture of the bushing on the drivers side lower control arm. I have never seen a bushing look like this before. I know it’s been this way at least for a year and now I’m finally wondering what’s going on. The car seems to drive fine, but this doesn’t look normal at all. S...

Thanks for sharing that. I’ve heard some people say WeatherTech isn’t that nice, but they didn’t elaborate. The ones you picked up are holding up well and easy to clean? Fit well I assume.

Best floor liners or mats?

I checked WeatherTech and they don’t have them for a 2008. Are there are companies that make something similar that fit all the contours like WeatherTech? I have some cut to fit ones that are ok, but they let slush spill onto the carpet on every trip. Any suggestions would be great. Mostly concerned...

Gray interior molding panel for subwoofer available?

My 2008 didn’t come with the upgraded stereo but would like to add something that looks factory and doesn’t reduce the cargo capacity beyond what I’ve seen with the factory subwoofer style. Short of checking junkyards, is there a place that sells that panel?

Let me know. Thanks!

I’m trying to find some missing trim parts for my 2008 base Vibe and it seems I’m either missing the front seat (front half) bolt /track end covers or they didn’t exist in the first place. I had one missing in the back and thought maybe He 4 in the front were tossed by the previous owner. Im wonderi...

Thank you for the help! I'm trying to figure out the wiring locations now as I won't be in a heated location likely. I'll probably stop and start a few times. Great to hear! I've never spliced wires like how things are described.... Cutting back the insulation midwire, without cutting the wire. Is that the approach you take or do you have some connectors you use?

DIY Remote Starter for 2008 Vibe

I'm a pretty good generalist with cars and wiring and would like to install a remote car starter in my 2008. I was ready to purchase the "Avital 4103LX" from Amazon, but had a few questions before I went ahead. I'm getting conflict answers if I need a "by-pass" for a 2008 Vibe or...

Re: CEL p0171... But runs perfectly fine? o2?

By what you said... it sounds impossible for the engine to know what cylinder / injector / bank is having the trouble unless it's individually adding more fuel to only one injector and remeasuring at the 02 and doing this for all cylinders. Anyway, I'm concerned how difficult this will be to do. I h...

Re: CEL p0171... But runs perfectly fine? o2?

So, it's been a few days now and the light hasn't come back on. All I did was add some Lucas Oil stuff to my 3/4 full tank. After 2 quick trips with restarts the problem went away. I've had at least 5 or 6 fresh starts since then with no issues. The idle seems slightly high but that could be because...

I'll try this today. Since the battery cable is pulled the codes will go away and the CEL will reset... If theres another problem when will the CEL come back? My idle has been higher lately but I thought that was just due to the extremely cold temperatures. Keep you posted!

CEL p0171... But runs perfectly fine? o2?

Starting yesterday my CEL came on so I decided to bring it to Autozone for a scan. He showed me the scanner and it showed p0171 as a current problem and showed up in the logs two other times with no other codes. He thinks its the o2 sensor but said it could be something else. Upon googling this it l...

Rear door speaker wires - Red and white?

Simple question... 2008... Replacing the rear speakers and noticed there isn't a black wire nor did the wires correspond to the colors on the stereos harness. I assume that the red is positive and the white is negative. I couldn't find any evidence on the stock speaker to indicate either. Anyone kno...

Yep. The odometer is pegged at 299,999. The only way I know it was 310 is from the inch thick folder of service records. The OD was showing actual miles just a month or two before I picked it up. Now I go by the trip meter between oil changes.
