Re: should I change the spark plugs?

The owners manual states to change them at 200k miles, and not before????

Re: Receiver Install on 2005 Base

Yeah, thanks for the post.

Mine too has interference type noise at low volume. It's really annoying if you're listening to talk radio.

So the SLC4 totally eliminates any back ground noise at low volume?

Re: HIGH MILAGE - maintenance concerns +230K

There isn't a timing belt. It's a chain. Should be fine. If valve train isn't making noise, it's fine. Check ball joints and bushings. If you don't know how, have it done. I would flush brake fluid and ps. I would change all hoses. I would change the trans fluid, should have been doing it more often...

Re: New head unit; fuzz/static sound

If you run the factory amp (if yours is so equipped), you will need to buy a low line converter to install between the new stereo and the car's harness or you will get static from overpowering the factory amp. If you have it installed, there's a good chance the installers may miss this, as well. Fu...

Re: New head unit; fuzz/static sound

Do you have any kind of input plugged into the deck? A rear RCA input, a front aux input, etc? No RCA inputs. I can hear it, if something is plugged into the front usb port, or not. Crutchfield told me to unplug the antenna, and see if it goes away. Or, swap power wires. Love buying something new, ...

New head unit; fuzz/static sound

I recently installed a new head unit, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X597 , in my '04 Vibe. Got it from Crutchfield, along with their harness. Problem is, at low volume I can hear a static/fuzz sound. Not sure how to describe it, it basically that sound you hear when you volume is turned way up, but nothing is...

Re: Looking for original style floor mat

During a quick search on the site I could not find anything for the floor mats. However, all you have to do is contact GMPartsCenter.net with your VIN and what part you're looking for and they will email you within a day or two with the information you requested. Thanks for the tip. I emailed them,...

Looking for original style floor mat

The drivers side floor mat on my '04 Vibe is pretty worn, and I'd like to replace it with an original. Does anyone know of an online website that sells them? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks

Re: P0420 Code after front cat gutting

If you're still working on this. Ad an 02 extender from ebay, or google spark plug anti fouler 02 extender. It will stop your CEL from coming back on.

Re: Check engine light problem

if you already changed your cat and end up with a P0420 code, your next stop is a new downstream 02 sensor. I just replaced mine on my 03 and was able to finally pass emissions. If you still have troubles, you can use a non-fowler extension with a few bits of steel wool. This takes a little patienc...

It worked on my '01 Civic. I removed the cat, and replaced it with a straight pipe. Welded in a o2 bung, and did the anti fouler mod. No CEL.
