Gauges

I've read through the all the gauge posts I could find and couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I'm just going to ask strait out. In the 2003 vibe, is the plastic over the gauge cluster red or transparent? I tried to figure it out by just looking but I simply couldn't decide... Thxs

Yes the bulbs were all soldered on, according to people on the forum you need 5V bulbs if you need to replace them (there like 1.00 - 1.50 CDN, pretty cheap). I had someone I know solder in some 12V to replace broken ones on my radio, they work, their just dim, gonna have him change them to 5V when ...

Re: (joatmon)

joatmon got it just right. I can't stand it when the sunlight comes in just right and makes everything, radio display, speedometer, etc just ...disappear!

My mistake, you're all quite right. The LCD display has a little board with red leds in it (I counted 14 on mine) and the rest are little incandescent bulbs. Sorry bout that. Thanks to every one for the quick answer to my problem

Radio Lights

I have become inspired to make modifications to my vibe, mainly due to some inspiration from this forum. I haven't done anything to any of my cars before, so I decided to start by just seeing how things in the dash are put together. Anyways, one thing led to another, and before long I was taking apa...

Re: Work Orders (Sputnik)

Thanks so much. I focused so much on looking up terms like "work order", "bill", "payment", etc. I overlooked the obvious and looking through all the posts by Salsa! well... that would have taken forever! Now here's to hoping my dealer, who has provided excellent servic...

Work Orders

I know I'm not crazy and I saw that someone posted their work orders for their cladding replacement and another for their battery (I believe it was Salsa! because I'm convinced it was a fellow Ottawa area resident). I'm going into the dealers tomorrow for one of these regular checkups and I'd like t...

Re: HELP!!! Calling all "check engine" light victims!!! (bullwinkle727)

I had a check engine light problem early on and the codes that came up weren't the cause of the problem (dealer was kind enough to take the time and check a few of the possible causes). Dealer came and saw me and after a quick discussion it turned out to be the locking gas cap (it's a neighbourhood ...

Re: new genvibe logo/stickers...what do you think? (savedbyzero)

Just wanted to give a round of applause to Saved for some really good designs for a new logo. The seemed to have been sidelined by some not so slick looking logos which seem to have a larger following. It takes a lot of time and creativity to come up with something distinctive that constitutes more ...

Re: (desert_dweller)

The guy is pretty amazing but there have been a lot of really smart people on jeopardy in the past before they lifted the 5 day rule... I wonder what he's like in daily life, I can just see him as the annoying know-it-all guy

Re: my impression of the 04 vibe after 3 months (vibeman1)

I have to agree with a lot of people here, a lot of the dislikes are really minor personal preferences. While a glovebox light may have been nice, I looked at the car thoroughly before buying it and knew there wasn't one. When you spend this kind of money you really need to check what you're getting...

Question about a TSB...

The Tsb that concerned weatherstrip maintenance, is it the rubber between the plastic cladding and the metal of the car or is it the weatherstripping around the doors?Kind of on the side, does anyone know what the cost of the plastic portion of the rear bumber costs, i was the victim of a parking lo...

That Damn Cladding

So of the people who have gotten there '03 cladding switched due to that discoloration (kind of looks like a sweater pilling, but that may be just me). Was it hard to get the dealership to do it (what did you say show them) and how long did it take?

Re: Genvibe Newbie (Sputnik)

Mine's from Surgenor, kind of far from the house, but the service has been great so far. Got it in March '03, and this was the only place that had any on the lot at the time and would give me any attention in the showroom, all the other dealers didn't even bother asking if I needed help...

Were you the Vibe by the Sportchek on Merivale road? (Cause that's the only place I saw a Satellite vibe today, it was parked about 3-4 spaces away...)

Genvibe Newbie

Have owned my Vibe for almost a year and a half but only recently found this forum. So far I've learned so much (gonna check out the possibility of new plastic cladding , thanks to that TSB I've read about here) and although modding my car was never all that interesting to me, this forum might chang...

Re: "Damn Good Car" (jmf2)

Wow, thought I was the only one to ever roll around with their Vibe! I'm happy to report that we were four in the car and we walked away scratch free. The frame didn't even budge in our case and we did some crazy (removed) double roll, once over the nose and once over the side. The only casualties w...
