Re: How many miles on your Vibes?

I'm up to 215k now. Bought it almost 4 years ago with 90k and its been a great car. I've just done normal maintenance and put tires on it and the thing just keeps running!

Re: Latest airbag recall is out

Just made the appointment to have mine done and they are giving me a loaner which is cool. My airbag light came on a couple months ago so I hope this solves that too as I want to sell the car soon.

Noise in front right speakers only...

Ever since I bought my Vibe about 8 months ago it has had a humming noise in the front right speakers. I messed with it a little when I first bought the car but now it's getting really annoying so I want to try to figure this out. It's not your traditional alternator noise, its just a low humming bu...

Re: (98se5speed)

Got it back from tint an it looks great. I have had darker tint before but it's a pain to see out at night. I did have 28% once on my old Titan that I loved but I can't seem to find anyone that carries it anymore. 35% is the darkest you can go on the front side windows but the 28 was so close that n...

Getting the tint in the morning. Cleaned the MAF which was pretty dirty and reset the CEL and so far it's not coming back on so I hope that cured that. Also I noticed that the noise in the stereo seems to be coming from just one speaker so tomorrow night I will tear into that.

Good call on Ebay, I will check there too. The wine has to be in the amp, I will pull the passenger seat this week and see if I can tell where the ground is for it. I noticed that I can see a wire harness a little exposed under the passenger seat so maybe it got wet or something and there is some co...

Already have put about 1000 miles on it already. Really starting to like the little thing haha. I did have a CEL come on but everything is running fine and fluid levels are good so I just need to stop and get it scanned I guess. Probably just a loose gas cap or something. I had to leave town today s...

Thanks guys, yes it's the silver one from autotrader. Got the nav unit installed and the whine is still there so I am actually pulling it out right now to run a new ground for the deck itself. Hopefully that fixes it. Thanks for the links for the rear mat, and haven't had a chance to mess with the b...

Re: (Spooner)

Got her home yesterday morning finally and I think I like this thing. I will burn through a tank of gas today so it will be interesting to see where I'm at MPG wise. A couple things I've noticed is that the doors don't have a pronounced 'catch' at different positions. You can feel a stop as you open...

Thanks everyone. I am heading in a bit to go pick it up. I will test it out pretty quick as I have two long driving days tomorrow and might take it to St Louis this weekend for Supercross which is another 4 hours each way. I just hope I have time to install the navigation system before then so I can...

Re: (Spooner)

Well looks like I'm picking it up hopefully tomorrow. They put new tires on it and are going to fix the seat so it worked out pretty good. Wish the paint was a little nicer but honestly I'm going to rack up over 30k miles a year on this so having something perfect would just (removed) me off when it...

Re: (Spooner)

Haha, just was cruising CL and found they listed the same car for $7,900 on there. Funny, when I was there today and inquired about a lower price he said they had $8,400 in it and would be 'willing to make just a few hundred on it'. Might call them and say I will take it for $7,500 and see what happ...

Re: (zaxellord)

Yeah I knew about the accident. I will have it checked out before I buy it anyways. I know it's not the only cheap car out there, it's just crazy how much they go for used. When I was driving it there was a little storage compartment to the left of the wheel that kept flopping down, I assume that sh...

Re: (Spooner)

Went and drove this one today: http://www.premierautodeals.co...Notes Not sure I'm that impressed. I realize these aren't expensive vehicles to begin with but it just seemed so cheaply made considering they are asking almost $9,000 for this with almost 100k on it. This particular one was a good 10 f...

So school me on first gen vs. second gen cars. I can't believe that I'm finding 05's with 100k miles on it for $7-9K (more towards 9), and '09's with 50-80k miles for $10k. I really wanted to spend more like $7k for a work car but man i'ts hard to not see the value in spending a couple grand more to...

Thanks! Looks like it should work-it's about an inch and a half narrower but by hooking one side first that should give me enough clearance to get it over the other side.

Roof rack question

Hey guys, hoping to pick up a vibe as a new work vehicle pretty soon but wondered if someone could measure the width of the roof rack for me? I need the width to the very outside point. I have a bicycle roof rack that clamps onto the factory rack but it only adjusts so wide and on my wife's last SUV...

Also since it doesn't have the better stereo does that mean no factory amp? That would be great actually as I have a nice double din nav system and would like to run my amp to the oem spots with different speakers of course. Not having to mess with bypassing a factory amp would make my life MUCH eas...

What do you guys think of this one:http://raymartauto.com/2004_Po...4.vehLooks fairly clean and has a good carfax. It's actually very close to my house so I might go check it out tomorrow. I really didn't want black but I could live with it if it's in nice shape. They are asking $6,500.

Ok i'm a little confused on the options now. I thought if it had a sunroof it automatically had the upgraded stereo w/subwoofer. What year did that start? Did all years have the upgraded stereo as an option?

Sounds like the GT isn't worth it then. I mostly just drone down the highway and I don't get reimbursed for fuel so I would rather get a little better mileage. AWD isn't big deal to me. I do drive a subaru currently and it has been nice in the snow but a front wheel drive vehicle would be fine where...

Thanks for all the info! Yeah I read the early 5 speeds were junk by I am not finding many anyways. I like driving a stick but I wouldn't turn down an auto. Shopping for a Vibe-few questions

Looking for a new work car as I'm a sales rep and drive a ton of miles. These have popped up on my radar as possibly fitting the bill quite well. Looking to spend less than $8k and hoping to find one with 100k or less. I drive about 35k miles a year for work so I hope to get 3-4 years out of the car...
