Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, a local Discount Tire matched a used RS-A, charged $25 + $11 labor. (I did have to call a few places to find one though.)- GenVibe never lets me down. -

Need one new tire -grrr-

I ran over a couple of nails the other day with my '94 Vibe. Took it into the dealer who patched it for $11.Got it home and it was half-flat again.Took it back today, and it seems one of the nails nicked the sidewall, which, they tell me, cannot be fixed. Came home with the spare still on.It's a Bas...

Roof top box

We bought our Satellite '04 just over a year ago. Since then we've added another child, and with the warmer weather we've started going a few road trips. Space is becoming an issue.I looked into the usual suspects (Yakima and Thule), but they both say the Vibe need towers and crossbars to work with ...

Vibe Accident

So, my 6-month-old '94 auto base, with a whopping 7500 miles on it, was just in a *very* minor fender bender. I was not in the car, but my wife told me she was waiting to turn right at a light, and the guy in front of her started to pull out. She looked left and took her foot off the brake and bumpe...

I just changed my oil for the first time (2 months, 3517 miles, 2000 of which are from last week's road trip) the day before yesterday and I had to buy a filter wrench to get the filter off. I humbled a couple of guys in my apartment complex who, when I asked them if they had a wrench told me they w...

I have no idea how this thing got in there. My wife takes the car out at least once a day, but usually parks it in the same outdoor location. We recently took the vibe on a 2000-mile road trip (33.9 MPG on the base auto), but I think the nest is older than that.As far as I can tell, there are no egg...

I use the AC outlet to power my wardriving ways as well. I just plug in my Sharp Zaurus with its wireless card and listen for beeps. It's actually quite useful to know the accessible wireless networks in your neighborhood. The AC outlet is great because wireless cards drain PDA batteries quickly.I s...

Utah - CA trip....

We'll be taking the Vibe on its first major roady this week. Specifically, we'll be driving from Provo up I15, to Salt Lake, then I80 to the Bay Area, and 680 down to San Jose. Yes, this does mean driving through the salt flats, and Nevada. But, to keep us from getting bored (no offense to and Nevad...

Yet Another AC Outlet Use

I tested a laptop + iRock FM-transmitter = DVD entertainment center this week on an hour-long trip with my 2-year-old. My wife rode in the back drivers-side seat, and we installed the carseat behind the passenger's seat. We folded the front seat down, put the laptop on it, and plugged it into the AC...

Okay, GM emailed me back and it is definitive NO - THE VIBE DOES NOT HAVE AN OIL LIFE MONITOR.So, I'll call the dealership to make sure they clear this up with any other customers. It could be a messy situation if they told some other sap, and he believed them until 10,000 miles later and -BOOM!Than...

I went to ask GM, so I registered on their owner's site. It's actually pretty cool and gives you a maintenence schedule, and allows you to record what you did when. In fact, it says on the site that oil changes should be done every 3K or 3 months, whichever comes first.silverawd26, I'm not seeing an...

Thanks for the feedback. The dealership is a GMC/Pontiac one, so they might have been confused. I'm sending an email to GM right now to make sure this gets straightened out.I've only gone 900mi in a month, mainly city, though, so I'll most likely just change the oil at 3K. Thanks again.

The Vibe tells *me* it needs an oil change?

Okay, the dealer told me, when I bought the Vibe a month ago, not to change the oil every 3K, but that an indicator light will flash before it needs to be done. He said the onboard computer records RPM and fill-up information and tell me the oil needs changing two fillups before it's really necessar...

Low hitch receiver & bike rack

Well, I'm just about to order my Hidden Hitch and buy a hitch-mounted bike rack, but I have a couple of concerns:The Hidden Hitch's reciever is really low (only 10" from the ground). I know the ball adapter raises the ball up a bit, so I'm not worried about towing. My concern is that bike racks ...

Re: Which soap is best? (Mr. Poopypants)

LOLYeah, one of the reasons we went with the Vibe over the Matrix was because we felt the gray two-tone would last longer between washings. BTW, edmunds.com likes the Vibe's styling over the Matrix's too.

Which soap is best?

I just bought a satelite 2004 Vibe base, auto (love the OD) w/power package. I don't intend on spending too much time keeping this car looking good, but when I do wash it, what are the best products to use? Here's what I've gleaned so far from this forum:1. Use Armourall on plastic cladding and dash2...

New Owner... as of tomorrow

Well, my wife and I finally did it. Bought a 2004 Vibe auto w/ power package. We're located in Provo, Ut, and we'll be putting this thing through the ringer the next few years. We looked at the Civic, Corolla, Sentra, Ion, Matrix, and saw an add featuring the Pontiac incentives, so we went to check i...
