Re: (Kari)

Thanks for the response. To answer your question, yes. Each time I email for a new password it is changed and that password will let me log on. If I log out and try back in a day or two that password will not work and I have to get a new one emailed to me. I will try to look for a pattern that may h...

Re: (kostby)

Thanks for all the tips folks, but each one of you missed the point. I am aware of how to make IE remember passwords. I doesn't matter if I have my browser remember my password or if type it in manually, I get the same message, Invalid Username/Password. The password that I just used yesterday would...

Genvibe login

Is it just me? Each time I login to this forum I have to go through the "forgotten paassword" routine. I always write down my password when I get it. A couple days later I come back to login again and that password will no longer work, so I have to have it e-mailed to me. Each time it has ...

Re: (ColonelPanic)

Unfortunately you may be out of luck. The face plate is very easy to remove. The bad part is that it is a sealed unit. That is to say the display, the knobs, the entire face is an assembly that is glued together and not meant to be opened up. The assembly will simply "unclip" from the body...

Re: (Phenolic)

S#*T!!!! Just my luck. I wouldn't recomend this unless you plan to replace your unit, which I did. I took the unit out of the dash. I removed the top cover, the bottom cover, and the face plate. The CD player is a seperate unit within the stereo that can be removed with a couple connectors and a fe...

Re: Moons and Tunes CD dead (joatmon)

Story of my life. The warranty expired a couple months back. Thanks for the eBay tip. I'll give it a shot.

Moons and Tunes CD dead

I have a Moons and Tunes package in my Vibe. The CD player started to skip occasionally. I used a CD lens cleaner kit to clean the lens...bad move. The CD player is dead now, it won't read any CDs. I am looking for any suggestions on what to try next or where I could get the unit repaired besides ta...

Re: Want accelleration without premium fuel (trdvibe)

OK, I'm sure that there are some modded base models that can run really strong...."but i've also ridden in Devlop's turbo'd vibe, and i can say that it would kick your gt's (removed) any day of the week! so to say that with mods added to the base vibe not being a vibe, you are right in this cas...

Re: Want accelleration without premium fuel (NancyC)

I read through the replies listed here and found some interesting reading. I guess you can do the mods to get a base model close to the punch of a GT, but I have ask, why? There is no replacing the feel of the lift. The mileage is good enough for me to offset the additional cost of the premium fuel....

Re: Airbag fault (joatmon)

Here's the latest . After made the last post I went out to take one more look at the car. I pulled back the interior panel over the right seat belt assy since I at least now knew where the trouble was. The electrical connector looked to be normal, but I gave it a jiggle and pushed it. It went on jus...

Re: Airbag fault (Phenolic)

OK the verdict is in. Anyone who had thier money on the seatbelt pretensioner is a winner. The scanner showed a fault in the right front belt assy. They didn't bother to open up the panel to look for any problems such as a loose connection or anything, they just ordered a new belt assy. Of course it...

Re: (Phenolic)

Side note here. I know that I am getting off the subject, but I believe that we have beaten this one to death anyway. I have seen some photos on here of painted calipers. I thought you may want to see mine. [IMG][/IMG]

Re: (ragingfish)

As suggested by Ragingfish I checked all the fuses which checked out OK. I have it scheduled into the dealer tommorow. I will post what they find after I get it done. Thanks for all the suggestions.

As I said in my original post I did a lot of reading on here before I started. I found the schematic of the audio system and was very careful to do the installation correctly and neatly. There is always the chance that I caused a short to ground somewhere but I doubt it. The only wiring that I was i...

Airbag fault

Today I installed a sub in my GT. The sub works just fine. During the installation I disconnected the battery for a couple hours and removed the right front seat for easier access to the amp. I do not have side airbags in my Vibe. I did not encounter any yellow banded components while I was working....
