Re: Two drain plugs for the transmission or is one for the front differential?

I need to post the photo but it won't let me despite trying to resize. I just changed all three of these, so I am well familiar with each. I would just pull the mystery plug to see if it was in fact for the trans, but I haven't found a coinciding fill plug (I actually did find a fill plug low on the...

Re: AC repair - Location of AC low pressure cut-out switch

You can but not as efficiently as when the a/c is running and pulling the pressure down to ~30psi versus 90 or so when off. Take care of the clutch first, then throw in a can of dye to see if there is a leak.

Re: air conditioning problems are not cool!

I'd look into check/replacing the a/c clutch first. A slipping clutch will also reduce performance. Not too hard to do...pretty accessible by removing the front left tire and splash guard.

I do know it. I just didn't notice the selector switch was set to it...and I'm an idiot. Thanks.

Two drain plugs for the transmission or is one for the front differential?

This forum has been very helpful so far with my 03 AWD Vibe. However, I am perplexed as to what the second drain plug is for. It is behind the trans pan drain plug and inboard, close to the center and facing the passenger side. I cannot find a fill plug for this supposed portion of the trans. I thou...

A/C is always on despite HVAC button is off!

Searched all over with nothing similar. The A/C clutch is engaged and the fan is always running whether the button is on or off. If I pull the A/C MAG relay, the clutch disengages but the fan keeps going. If I disconnect the wires to the button, it still runs. Is there another relay that could be fa...

Re: Speed ratings for tires on different Vibe trim levels

The question isn't a matter of practicality. I know that I'll never drive that fast in this car. I tried that line of thinking with the installer but they wouldn't not go against what was recommended. The question I posed was were OEM tires of different speed ratings installed on Vibes depending on t...

Re: Speed ratings for tires on different Vibe trim levels (jdmccright)

[2ND UPDATE] They have credited me for the full amount including shipping due to the snafu. Nod to TR for the good follow-up, though they didn't really tell me they would do this yesterday. Back then they said they'd only refund the tire cost, not shipping.I've put in an order for the Goodyear Assur...

Speed ratings for tires on different Vibe trim levels

My vibe (2003 AWD) is due for new tires, so I went to Tire Rack and bought some nice Hankook H727 tires. They have a "T" speed rating. However, when I went to have them installed, they told me that the minimum recommended speed rating for my car is "H". So I call up TR.They infor...
