Re: Clutch slippage?

That's an interesting hypothesis. Seven months ago this service was performed by the auto maintenance & repair shop I rely on: "Fuel injector service (Cleaned injectors, throttle body, air plenum and intake)." I'll keep monitoring how it behaves when I drive it. I certainly hope it's s...

Clutch slippage?

Within the last several weeks my 2007 Vibe (manual transmission) started slipping when upshifting to 3rd gear and also 5th gear. The odometer is approx. 123,000 miles. It seems like between 2,000 rpm and 3,000 rpm the revs dip for 4 or 5 seconds, and then acceleration kicks in again. This happens du...

Re: 400k miles 06 vibe strange hesitation problem

A very interesting problem. The only assistance I can provide is to direct you to the GenVibe facebook page. That has pretty much replaced genvibe.com. I never go there, since I don't have a facebook account. You might get a helpful answer there as there is a lot more activity.

Re: who is still hanging out on genvibe in 2024?

I drive a 2007 Vibe with almost 120,000 miles on the odometer. Manual transmission. I don't have a Facebook account, so genVibe.com is an important source of information. I probably average a login once a month.

Re: Original owner - 2007 Vibe

Rain water and melted snow settle on the lip under the rear window. A recipe for rust. ( Probably a healthy application of wax could have prevented this, but I neglected to do this.)

Re: Original owner - 2007 Vibe

Does this rust cause a problem with water or air leakage around the hatch? Not yet. It looks like it's on the surface. For now, anyway. I'll take a picture tomorrow, when it's daylight.

Re: Original owner - 2007 Vibe

Me too. I have the Vibe I bought in 2007. It has 110,000 miles on the odometer, which is pretty close to 170,000 km. The engine is still strong and oil tight. The 5-speed manual transmission doesn't like to be shifted into 1st gear unless the car is completely stopped. From what I've read, that prob...
