I recently found a 5 speed from a 2006 Toyota Corolla at a local auto parts yard. It has 46,000 miles on it. My question is....Is the 06 transmission free of the defect that resides in the older 5 speeds.Thanks

Just curious as to what your next step is. I too have a Vibe (2003) with the transmission making a noise, and am trying to decide what to do next. From everything I have read about the 5spd, it is not worth replacing with a used one as most seem to have the same problem a short time after the swap....
