Re: Hybrid Pontiac Vibe (vibeless)

I don't know about a gas/electric hybrid, but a Diesel/electric would be a nice alternative which GM has experimented with in an Opel Speedster. A 1.3L turbo diesel engine coupled with an electric motor averaged 94mpg. Quote, originally posted by vibeless »http://www.sae.org/automag/glo...htm Eco-S...

Hi guys,It seems like Mase hit the Rev limiter. Has anyone else who's experienced the fuel shutoff check their Tach? It seems unlikely that GM would limit the GT to an unrounded number like 138mph. It would be more like 140 or 150mph. Granted the speedometer might not be exact at those speeds. Any m...

Yeah but who knows what GM has done to this engine Mine starts right up. A few things come to mind with long starts: 1) if you're parked on a slant 2) it could be an emmisions thing ie the new standard that the 2005 adopted compared to that of the 2003.

Re: Supercharged 1zz vs 2zz stock (drummerdude)

hey drummerdude, from what I understand none of the Vibes are governed. How logical would it be to have a governor on the 1zz when it won't physicaly pass the 110 mph mark(or atleast won't go much further then 110 w/o f/i)? Logic would be to put it on the 2zz which we know isn't the case. It would b...

yeah, but reading SCC or any other tuner mag, first they indicate better performance with higher octane gas compared to Cali gas(even when tuned on Cali gas) and in one article they indicate that gas types difere from one region of the US to another. I'll stick to premium till it starts to really hu...

Anybody knows a good speed shop in the NYC area?

Anybody knows a good speed shop in the NYC area? It's annoying because it seems that a vast majority of good speedshops are on the west coast. I'm not sure that i'll have a turbo installed right away (especially with these high gas prices!) but I'd like to know. Thanx for any info.
