So since the Matrix and Vibe are essentially the same car engine and tranny wise, does that transpose to other components? Like will Matrix suspension components fit the Vibe?

I've got an 04 Vibe GT I just bought and the storage compartment was missing. Sourced one through a local dealer, but I can't get the dang thing to latch closed. It just pops right open, like there's nothing to catch the latch. Any ideas?
