Re: Is OEM Single CD Player Interchangeable with 6-CD Player?

Oh, I understand now. Thanks so much for checking into this for me.

Replacement for the Vibe likely will be the next generation RAV4, which will be introduced in the 2019 model year. That's a good question for other Vibe enthusiasts too.

Re: Is OEM Single CD Player Interchangeable with 6-CD Player?

Thanks for suggesting and checking on car-part.com. I guess I just don't understand very well how it works---I can see that '03 6-CD changer models are interchangeable with '07, for example; they all show up when I'm searching for an '07. But I don't see where it tells me that a 6-CD changer is inte...

Re: Is OEM Single CD Player Interchangeable with 6-CD Player?

Pretty sure that I've read that Vibes don't have the GM audio security feature (it's just a GM radio inside a Toyota). So it's pretty much plug and play on replacements, without the need for reprogramming. Just not entirely sure about going from 6-CD player to single, without the need for new harnes...

Is OEM Single CD Player Interchangeable with 6-CD Player?

I have an '07 with a broken OEM 6-CD Player. Planning to sell car, and I want a working radio in there, but at minimum cost. I see that I can buy the single OEM CD player/radio cheaply on EBay or at the salvage yard. Will it work (that is, all functions) with my existing harnesses/plugs? It looks li...

Re: Toyota vs. GM Diagnostics?

Just saw a related issue raised several years ago. Here's one response, in part: "The Toyota scan tool won't talk to my Vibe the way it does a Toyota. You can talk to other cars using it but can only pull up codes and sometimes the live datastream. When it talks to Toyotas, it can recalibrate t...

Toyota vs. GM Diagnostics?

I have airbag sensor issues--evidently, passenger buckle and seat weight issues. The local GM dealer was of little help in doing diagnostics (and they couldn't recalibrate the seat); and they're not very familiar with the car. However, there's an independent airbag repair that has the equipment to d...

Re: Airbags and Scanner

thanks for reply. just passenger airbag off light. everything seems fine underneath, but it's a little hard to see. if replacement sensor doesn't fix problem, do i want to remove seat and check wiring more closely? does a replacement sensor require recalibration of seat? does one of the sensor conne...

Airbags and Scanner

---Haven't seen this question asked anywhere before. Are there certain airbag problems that are not identified by an SRS scanner? For example, would clockspring, recalibration, occupancy sensor, and unplugged connector issues all be detected by the scanner? I'm trying to figure out what might be my ...

Re: Airbag Recall Warranty?

yeah, just the right side. the one that's supposed to go off once there's weight on the seat.

i can uninstall the bulb, but i guess there's no way to be absolutely sure that the airbag is working properly?

if the weight thingy works for the seat belt, why not for the airbag?

Re: Airbag Recall Warranty?

Thanks for the replies. dealer says there's a 12-month warranty. i'm past that now. there isn't any red airbag light on in the instrument cluster. and no SRS codes are being thrown, according to my scanner. and all the cables under the seat seem to be connected. fwiw, the seat belt chime goes on whe...

Airbag Recall Warranty?

Does anyone know what is the warranty (dealer or manufacturer), if any, on the recall work done to replace the passenger side airbag? I have a 2007 model. The recall work was done about a year or so ago, I think. I just noticed that the airbag light stays on, even if someone is sitting in the passen...

TPMS for 2007

I have a 2007 model. I'm about to replace the tires. Does the installer need to do anything special with regard to the TPMS (valves, resets, etc.)? I've heard that on the 2007, it is an indirect system which relies on the ABS (and there's no sensor in the valve). Is that correct? But on the Matrix, ...
