Re: Lowering the cam lift point. (goodvibe)

From what I have heard development should be finished within the month, but we all know how these things have a tendancy of getting pushed back.I have also heard that lift cannot be lowered too far, but can be safely lowered to 5500 RPM. IMO this would be very nice. With where it's at right now you ...

Re: Lowering the cam lift point. (Thxalot)

Unichip is devoloping a Plug-N-Play performance chip for the 2ZZ engine as we speak. They are using Matrices as the beta testers, but the chip should be compatible with the Vibe's ECU.I believe with this chip you should be able to safely lower the lift point to 5500 RPM. This thread over at MO tells...

Re: Car and Driver: GTO (Reynoma)

The article also said that GM is only going to produce the GTO for 3 years at 18,000 units a year. Isn't that odd?As for the styling, I think it is ho-hum at best. Still, props to GM for keeping the rear drive muscle car alive.

Re: What made you buy the Vibe over the Matrix? (ragingfish)

I never really considered the Matrix either. Gowing up my family was pure American: Jeep Cherokee, Ford Explorers & Chevy Vans. Never cared for Asian cars at all. For that matter, never cared for front wheel drive. The Vibe is a nice compromise - still an American brand, but with the Toyota moto...

Received an email from Alpine

SO I was reading through this old post about Alpine Developments:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1113Now, I have read bits and pieces of other threads that said that Alpine had abandoned the project, which ticked me off enough considering how enthusiastic Mr. Belanger was in the emails.quote...

WOW! that car is ugly. Doesn't matter who signed it. Way to ruin a rolls. I can think of a few things on which I'd rather spend 80+ grand

Re: Attention Owners with NO CAI installed... (trdvibe)

Yeah, Thanks. I've read your posts about the hood.I was mainly interested at first because I need a CAI made specifically for the vibe since I am currently driving 25,000-30,000 miles/year. Want to minimize the filter cleaning hassle.Krera - think I've heard enough to forget about them.Even before t...

Re: Attention Owners with NO CAI installed... (trdvibe)

Thanks for the tips about Krera. Just read the posts about them bein' shady and all.I just had enough money saved up to buy a CAI and then doh!... the water pump on my boiler blew out. Now instead of more horsepower for my vibe I had to get a new pump to stay warm for the winter.Trdvibe -- where is ...

Re: Navigation Owners (Craigmri)

I have the Nav system in my Vibe GT and I love it.As far as it being a lousy system or not, it is an entirely subjective opinion. Many people have found the Nav system rather confusing and awkward to use. HOWEVER, that being said most professional car reviews I have read (Car & Driver, Road &...

Re: What car did you trade in or give up on for your Vibe??? (silverawd26)

Very true. I almost fainted when the cops came to my house at 1:30 in the morning. I thought they were going to give me my car back and then they told me...All of us make bad decisions from time to time. Sometimes we pay more dearly than one might expect. Unfortunately the consequences of our action...

Re: What car did you trade in or give up on for your Vibe??? (VibeR8Lava2Tone)

Now here's a story for y'all. I had a 1998 Chevy Malibu. Nothing spectacular, but it was comfortable, reliable, and had a nice little torquey V6.It was going to be completely paid off in two weeks when some punk @ss 15 year old kid stole it and then wrapped it around a tree at 80 MPH while running f...

Where is everyone??? I know there are more Vibe owners in MN! I drive 500+ miles per week and I see at least 2-3 other Vibes every week. Just saw a two-tone envy today as a matter of fact. (How rare is that?)What can we do to get more folks in here?

Re: Getting what you want without Factory Ordering (heddy)

I got my 2003 Vibe this past August. There is a dealer across the river in Wisconsin that has a "No-Hassle No-Negotiation Policy." I went there to test drive a vibe. I took a base model out for a spin. I decided I liked the Vibe, but not the base model: no guts and with that soft suspensio...

So wait a minute now...If you get this $40 kit you're talking about, isn't that kind of like haveing a CAI then? I mean if you have a high-flow air filter on the end of a smoothed out intake (I'm assuming the "piping" you refer to is an upgrade to the friggin' OEM accordion that currently ...

Yes, ditto to above. But I don't think different engine bays are the only problem. Does anyone know what the compression ratio is in the Celica application? As you are probably aware, the 11.5 compression ratio in the GT and the XRS is extremely high (this is why we must run premium fuel) Running bo...

Blitz! *Email Campaign*

Hello AllI have searched the forum, but this topic seems to have died out 4 or 5 months ago.Does anyone have any info about the status of the Blitz supercharger for the 2ZZ-GE? I've read a number of posts from up to a year ago that said Blitz would have it available in a few months. Their website - ...
