What do people classify your car as? My mom classifies my car as a van, and my dad classifies it as a jeep. I dunno why my dad classifies my car as a jeep, looks nothing like one.Inder Singh

My preferred classification is a station wagon. When I first bought it, my brother-in-law tried to convince me it was a SUV. We argued about it for a while, then I finally asked him why he thought I should call it a SUV over station wagon.. "because SUV just sounds better..." Uh, ok. I guess I could just call it a '4S' like appears on my registration.

my insurance company classifies it as a 5 door hatchback but Budget Rental charges you SUV prices if you want to rent one! (at least at the Baltimore airport)

Insurance calls it a wagon...no argument from me there as long as the premiums stay low.My friends call it my "Hoopty" in jest. My wife calls it my mid-life crisis!

I heard that CUV stands for Crossover Utility Vehicle. Somewhere between an SUV and a Car. I personally like the old Matrix commercials in 2k2 that called it "The World's First Sport Utility Rocket."

My 7 year old daughter is very happy that I got a "min-van" (my new 2005 Salsa 5-Speed). I'm happy she thinks its a minvan because she always wanted one. So now both she and I are happy we got what we wanted

My wife calls it my GT a "mid-life crisis car"...my daughter (7) calls it an embarassment (because of the bright yellow decals on a black car) and my twins (3) call it "daddy's black car". I call it a wagon.

When I researched it, it was always listed under "Wagons/Hatchbacks".I think of it as basically a Corolla hatchback.

I prefer to think of mine as a mini-SUV, I feel less old that way. CUV sounds good also.

My feeling is, the term "suv" is over used....First and foremost if it aint 4wd or AWD it aint an "suv" I dont care how big or small it is or how many miles-per-gallon / gallons-per-mile you get. If all 4 wheels dont get some sort of power from the engine then it aint no SUV

So, according to your theory, a WRX sedan is an SUV, Baja, Legacy, 3000GT VR-4, 300ZX, and the list goes on and on.Inder

My title calls it a wagon, and I tend to agree. However, I really like CUV. It sounds cool. And yes, SUV is over-rated.

In MD, my registrations lists it as a 5S, whatever that means.crossover utility vehicle is better than a sport utility crossover (CUV vs. SUX) it's a car.

A vehilce having 4wd does not make it an suv, but to be an suv it does have to have 4wd.Thats like saying bunnys have long ears. therefore those with long ears are bunnys.Maybe I just didnt complete my feelings into text properly, sorry.
