CIG fuse + multi others

So I was tying in a small 6" tube light under the radio/above the temp controls, to the cig wires. Well, I cut both at same time and popped the fuse. (dont laugh). So upon reading what fuse to replace, I see that the CIG fuse controls the radio and also the "Automatic Transaxle Control System".Ok, I dont have a 15amp fuse on me. Its 11:00pm on Sat. Night. I have to drive to meijers to get the fuse. So I'm thinking I might have a problem. But, testing the car out in the driveway, reverse, N, and Drive all work. I got to meijers no problem.SO, what does this "Automatic Transaxle Control System" do?I have 2004 Base Vibe.

Dunno, but just curious, don't you have spare fuses in your fusebox? If not under the dash, there should be some under the hood.

Yes, very good question! I was wondering that myself. Last week I was installing some LED's under the dash, and decided it was just too cramped here at home, parking at my apt. is very tight. So, I just started her up and drove across the street to the park. Forgot that the add-a-circuit thing that I had put the CIG fuse in was laying in the seat. With the fuse gone, no radio, but everything else worked. Go figure!Probably doesn't do anything too terribly important, otherwise I'm sure the PCM would have thrown a fit not being able to communicate with the tranny, and would have given a check engine light at the least... I dunno!

i have never, in my 3-4 used car owning history, seen a fuse box with extra fuses. "whatcha talkin bout Willis???"also, is the auto transaxle the auto tranny, or could it possibly be the gear for rear wheels in the AWD model???

For the AWD thing, there could very well be some solenoid/etc that may go through that circuit... Don't know, could be - I don't have AWD, so maybe that's why I didn't have any problems...

You've got extras laying around, and that's definitely not a bad thing!
