My son bought a new '04 Saturn VUE. Was having a transmission problem (was manual) - don't know exactly what it was. He had it less than 30 days and he wisely took Saturn up on their buyback or replacement guarantee within 30 days if not satisfied. He got a replacement which he says is working fine.

What problems did you have? Must have been really bad! I remember my friend buying a Sunfire because he loved my Cavalier. I never had a problem with my Cavy in 8 years while he had to change the tranny 2x in 6 months along with a host of other problems. GM refused to buy back the car and he bought an Acura instead. He bought the car for 21 000$CAN and about a year later on his trade in Acura gave him 8000$!!What car are you planning on getting?

Also, what model year was your Vibe? I'm curious as to the nature of your serious problems also. Never hurts to watch out for things.

I don't buy it. I think it's crap, cause I vaguely recall him saying he traded it already...

no, he had said the dealership was buying it back so he could get his happy taurus again. atleast they were willing to fix his problems.

actually Rob you quoted his last statement there when he was quoting me. I was the one who wrote the whole Quote, originally posted by silverawd26 »You can all shoot me for saying that but thats the truth. I have serviced quite a few Vibes and no one there has complained about their 03 DRL being to sensitive. And only one customer complained about the paint which will NEVER be a warranty item or recall because its not a safety problem or GM's fault stones are taking the paint off our Vibes. Is the paint weak? yes you don't need to convince me, I own a Vibe after all. bit so I don't think he is a tech or a mechanic. And he should be happy I'm not his dealer, for his concerns he had, we wouldn't have bought it back... discoloured dash? from something he did? rattles? I'd get laughed out of the shop by my area rep for sure.

If this is true, one car out of ten of thousands, bound to happen and does include foreign companies. No car company is immune to this kind of thing...

Is it possible that defcon1 (aka vibeman1, cobra55, john doe, etc.) just has trouble remembering his password, so keeps signing up anew? In any case, he could jump in here anytime and straighen up his identity, his job, his car situation, etc...
