clicking noise?

I have a 03 vibe and now I also have this clicking noise just behind the glove box. I have taken the glove box off and can see that the noise is coming from right above the air filter where a a panel goes back and forth when you press the recirculate (sp?) button just under the AC button. The odd thing is that it only makes the noise when that panel is closed (when I DON'T have the recircualte button press) . I was wondering if any of you have had this happen and any thoughts on what I can deo to fix it aside from just leaving the recirculate button on.Thanks in advance!!!!

I haven't had a chance to check mine out yet. The recirc probably closes a door to cut off outside air, does it sound like it's a flap or a door rattling? Does fan speed affect the sound?

joatmon, thanks for the reply...it is still making the clicking noise and I am almost positive it isnt the fan or anything caught inside there. in my none professional opinion I think the motor (or whatever closes the panel) doesn't know when to stop turning. It is like it is trying to close it and keeps turning even though it is already closed and causing the clicking sound.Didnt know if this sounded famliar to anyone on here...any solutions would be great!thanks!

There was at least one thread that I know of with a problem that sounds similar to yours... I'd bet something with the recirculate motor or various other components have become stripped and aren't able to open/close the door properly. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4456
