I have seen the light and had a AEM CAI put in over the weekend. I love the great sound it makes but better it the smoothness it adds at the lower RPM range.I also had the windows tinted. I love way a Vibe looks with the windows tinted.Greg

Nice! gotta love that CAI in there. You don't realise how well those actually work till you put one in and rev it up.

I stuck a polished AEM CAI on my base last weekend too. Despite several stories of difficult installs, mine was no prob. I took some baseline data and will report results of the "after" ASAP. It sounds and feels better for sure...

if you are afraid of hydrolock, you can always get one w/ a bypass valve.or go for a short ram

Will a short ram really make that much difference?I hear a bypass works, but it robs you of function of free flow?

well you can look up several short rams. aem, injen, and k&n all have short rams available. also, if you check on ebay, there are a lot of other "generic" brands on there too. but occassionally you'll find a good deal on name brands too. also, check under matrix xrs for the 05.

Here's AEM's web site: http://www.aempower.com/default.aspTheir illustration of the anti-hydrolock device doesn't seem to show any source of restriction.

HAHA, was this the same time Michigan flooded too because of all that rain? THere were tons of roads blocked off and they canceled school for 2 days. On the way to work I forded a section of road where the river re-routed itself and the water was up the the bottom of the doors just like Drunken and didn't have any problems. How much would a short ram cost for a base? I might wanna think about getting one of those instead.

OK, time now for the "After" data: Average of a number of runs from 2,000 RPM to the first "burp" of the fuel cut off in second gear is now 9.95 sec. "Before" time average was 10.26, so an improvment of 0.31 sec. Not huge, but hey, it's not a supercharger...
