I've been using the Pure one filter, some poeple don't like Fram, they got some bad press for a while. There's a auto parts store chain around me called Advance Auto, that's where I've bought mine. last time I checked there was no Purolator PureONE oil filter for the GT.there's a longer thread about Vibe oil filters at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4451I drain the oil from the pan before removing the filter. Always done it that way. Probably doesn't matter, but since I always get a little oil run down the side of the filter, I figure maybe I'd get a lot more if I loosened the filter before draining the pan. it's a lot easier to control the oil from the pan drain than what leaks out when you remove the filter. On some car's I've had, the oil filter isn't vertical, and you make a big mess when you pull the filter. On some the oil would leak down the side of the block. On the base vibe engine, the filter hangs down, and is a little away from the engine, so any that leaks fall clear of the engine, and are easy enough to catch.I'm still using Castrol GTX 5W30, and have been changing it about every 5K miles or so.There are a bunch of threads about vibe oil changes, like http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=876

With AC you cannot go wrong, tests have proved AC to be a great filter. Search the net under oil filter tests some guy bought just about every filter he could find, took them apart and analyzed them by their filter medium and bypass valves. Drain first then I punch a hole in the bottom of the filter to drain it more before removal. Since it is vertical, it usually stays full until you spin it loose and dumps oil on your hand. I use a brand name oil and change it every 3000 miles.
