One thing I picked up from a few people at the Ohio Rally was that Armor All sucks. Not that I didn't already know that. But seems several members, myself included, got attacked by the Armor All demon -- who mysteriously leaves white streaks in the dashboard after having used the product. Try to go over them again with more solution, and the streaks reappear. Seems if you don't get a successful cover on the first attempt, you are doomed.Well my friends, FEAR NOT, for help has arrived!I've been a long-time advocate of Stoner products. Stoner is the name of the company that makes Invisible Glass. Anyone who's used IG knows this is one amazing product.Well, stoner makes a whole line of car-care products. One of them happens to be a cleaner. Known as "Trim Cleaner for Interior Surfaces," this product removes residues, greases, silicones, and other waxes from interior vinyl and plastic surfaces.Here's a product shot: How it works:Very simple. Shake the can. Spray the cleaner on. It will foam up briefly. When the foam dissipates, simply use a clean dry cloth to wipe away the product. Nice. That does look like it works well and we got the "RagingReview" too. I just wanted to add that I've also found that Simple Green pre-moistened wipes work well on the plastic surfaces in our cars.

I use the glass cleaner, can find it at Walmart for about 3.50 4 bucks.Will that cleaner get rid of the "mystery spots" on the dash as well?I have 2 spots that WILL NOT go away!

No, many glass cleaners may contribute to the problem.This is a specific product which has a sole purpose of removing residues.

The pictures aren't great. But FWIW, you can see the fine lines in the dash more on the right side because of the shine product. The left side is the more dull, less detailed look because the product had been removed.

maybe its just me, but ive never had any issues with armor all. i just have to make sure i cover 1005 of the surface area. after i apply it, usually i rebuff it with a dry cloth to get the excess off. but whatever works for you, glad you found a fix!

I didn't have a problem either, and my first attempt wasn't a complete cover...I went back to it the next day and smoothed it out with more Armor All, and then it was fine.But...then the residue of this evil Devil's Product got on my cleaner wipes I was using to clean the gauge cluster. But that stuff is finally coming off, after like four different products and more than 10 applications. Each product cuts it a little bit more, but not completely.I wrote a letter to the "Ask Armor All" thing on their web site, and they wrote me back and said "We're sorry you had a negative experience" and told me the cleaner wipes can fog certain plastic surfaces. Well duh. I've figured that part out by now. But they offered no solutions, so I guess there must not be any.Even the tail of the Windex wipe I was using on the glass dragged the top of the dash and year-old Armor All got on it, then got all over my windows as I cleaned them. Evil stuff. Evil.

Just a little detail tip when using any kind of protectent like Armor All. Do not use a rag or any sort of towel, all towels and such are made to soak up water and anything you wipe with them. So instead you need to use a sponge, I like to use a varnish brush( little grey spong on a stick in case you dont know what I mean) to apply your favorite spray. Now when you do this you want to spray just a small amount on the brush then in a cicular motion rub it in till its even and looks the best. Just be carefull at first cause what you will notice is it takes far less to get the same coverage as using a rag. You can also use this for doing tires or anything else you may pur armor all on. But aren't sponges more absorbent than towels?

Thanks for the tip ragin. I never had a problem with Armor All as you describe, but the glass cleaner "Invisible Glass" works great. A member at the Mi. meet gave me a demo on the glass cleaner and I was sold.

No the sponge on those varnish brushes are made to release everything you put on it. Dont use a normal sponge it has to be one of the varnishing ones, try it you will be surprised
