I figure out changing my subwoofer.Actually, I have 2 10" sony X-Plod and I want to change them for 1 12" JL audio. I want the 12w3v2. It will give me much punch then my Sony's and will take less space in my trunk.I'm also considering the 10w3v2.What could be the best choice: stay with my Sony's, buy the 12" JL and go with the 10" JL?I have a power amp JBL 180.2 (180w x2 @ 2 ohm or 360w x1 @ 4 ohm bridged) to drive this. My head unint is a Pionner DEH-P8400I want your opinion on this

Check the RMS power for both subs. If your amp falls with the higher range of the RMS for the subs then that would be a good match and you will maximize the potential power of those indivdual subs that you want to use.ex. MTX 12inch sub with 50min-250max RMS AMP is 180 x2 @2 ohms since the amp kicks out 180 x2 you would want some subs that carry at least 50-watts of power RMS not to exceed 200 to 250 that way the subs will "knock" instead of "tapping"

My X-POLD drive max 400w peak JL 10" and 12" can take 350w RMS easy and up to 500w RMS at the read line.My amp dirve 360w RMS @ 2 ohms bridged.I think I will have the optimal setting sub/amp with the JL but I'm not sure if should go with a 10 or a 12" speaker

JL Stealthboxes

Hey, just as an FYI, I sent an email to JL Audio recently asking if they were considering making a "Stealthbox" for the Vibe/Matrix. For those who don't know what a Stealthbox is, it's a subwoofer in an enclosure that's designed to fit in your car and look like it's factory equipment. They don't take up a lot of space and they match the finish of your car. Info at
http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/index.html.They replied and said they're strongly considering it, so if anybody wants one made available, go to the JL site and send 'em feedback. I like 'em because you get a tuned enclosure and it's, well, stealthy. Easy, too.
