Is the GT exhaust the same as the Base exhaust? Or is there a difference? I know there's a difference between the base and the awd base. Inder Singh

Its the same from what I have seen between my friend Juliana's 03GT and my 04 base.

there is an extra hangar on the GT, but any muffler shop can weld that on. forget who it was who had a base and then traded it in for a GT right after he got his magnaflow exhaust.

I don't Quote, originally posted by TRD4reel »So, I can get a GT exhaust on my vibe? Thanks.Inder SinghI'm sure you could, but I doubt it'd be any different. Your best bet is to save up for a Magnaflow.

actually they are different. the bolt holes are a little off on the flanges you wouldnt be able to tell by looking at it. some people have made them fit though.

Sorry about that.

Magnaflow is the way to go Base or GT.

I've always thought custom would be the way to go, you can pick up a 2-3 inch full cat-back out of mandrel bent steel for 90$ if you do your shopping right, and you can get a good muffler for another $100 or so. It all comes down to looking around for what you really want instead of accepting one of either a Borla or Magnaflow pre-chosen packages (IMO)I had such a custom 2 1/2 exhaust on my Vibe and was very happy with it.

Mandrel-bending is just a way to bend the piping (to make it fit) that won't put any tears or kinks in it. It should be available at a lot of the exhaust or muffler shops. Ask around to see if they carry it or not.

Cool ^^If he welds for a living, you could probably get an upgraded exhaust system for much cheaper that way
