KYB Struts

KYB now makes GR-2 struts for the Vibe/Matrix. Jus thought I would let everyone know this info. It's on their site.

Good find! I wonder how similar they are to oem? I thought that some one said that ours were kyb s. If some one has a blown strut it it would be great for them. I wonder if they will work with a 2" drop?

I just looked through my old e-mails to see if I hadn't deleted a reply I received from an e-mail I sent to KYB, but it's gone. It had to be over a year ago now I asked KYB if they are going to bring out a stiffer aftermarket strut for the Vibe/Matrix and their reply was that they are planning on bringing out a replacement strut, but the dampening in it was exactly what is in the stock car. (KYB makes the O.E.M. struts) I can't remember what model KYB it was though. I can't remember if it was the GR-2 or not.

I know it's a long shot, but I'm wondering if the part number KYB lists on their page for the GR-2's would be the same as the one stamped on the Vibe's oem.The KYB's website doesn't list another model of strut "below" the GR-2, so I'm wondering if it's the same strut. I hope I'm wrong though. Some nice stiff struts would make the Vibe a blast to drive.

The "GR" in "GR2" stands for Gas Replacement. You are right in that they're O.E. style struts with pretty silver metallic paint. Found this out the hard way on an Eagle Talon years ago...

KYB replied to my email and said that they would not work with a 2" drop. Must be oem spec.
