Washed, Waxed and Shiny

Well, I waxed my Vibe today -- the first time I'd ever waxed any vehicle, but I think it turned out really well if I do say so myself. One of our neighbor's trees got hit by lightning and it blew the bark into my car, so I had to fix a few gouges along the top of the door frame with touch up paint and rubbing compound. Which called for a waxing afterward in preparation to go to the Ohio Rally. I'm really pleased with how both turned out.I used Mother's California Gold cleaner wax, after using GM road tar and oil remover to take off the tree sap and junk (at least what would come off). You can see yourself in my Vibe now.

Stage two of the cleaning took place tonight... I had about 30 CDs in my car, and all kinds of trash, and water bottles, and other crap, which is all out of the car now. I vacuumed, so it no longer looks like I live in a barn, and I cleaned the entire interior. All I have left is the Armor All and the interior glass, and I'm ready for Ohio.

My car is ready to go!Look at them filthy tires!Seriously though, I don't think I'll have a clean car for this, my week is so packed with miscellaneous tasks, I just don't think I have time for a detailing session!I think I have a little too much phone dirt-roading.

When I took it to the dealer today for last minute service, first thing the service manager said when he walked over was "damn, been doing some 4 wheeling?"Well, as a matter of fact, yeah!

Lookin' good there, Kari! And Mike, man that's dirty! Keep it that way for the meet. After the oil change and tire rotation this morning, I spent some time in the great outdoors giving the Vibe a good waxin'... Not lookin' too shabby, I think...Although it will probably look like dump after the drive up to Columbus. :/

I just spent the last 4 hours installing my NEW HID kit, and I'm abotu to embark on the fog light modification...No time for cleaning -- I'm spending it all with last minute mods!

Will we be able to see all the mods through the mud?

...And will Raging be able to see with his new HID's through the inch of mud caked to the headlights? And here's a pic of my dirty Vibe from way back when last winter...

My Vibe always looks like that since I don't wash it, unless I go to my parents and move their cars out of the way.... or I go to get an oil change and the service guy says "want a free car wash?"

Yeah, I was kinda hoping they were gonna wash it for me since it took them more than a day to fix my car...No such luck. But that's ok -- I got a new look goin.
