I am thinking about getting one of these. Hoping to get some input about them. What brand do you have? How does it fit? How easy to install? Are you happy with it?Some of the ones that I have looked at installed on misc. vehicles actually touch the front of the hood and some even rub off the paint. I definately do not want a model that will do that.Any thoughts or comments will be greatly appreciated. Pics would be great also.

Not sure about the bug deflector..but i've been using the OEM front-end protector (bra) for a little over a year now, and it works well! Definitely worth the investment..

i have a carflector "bug deflector" and i think it's about worthless. it may help keeping very small bugs or rocks off the hood or windshield, but if you look at my windshield you'll realize the big ones nailed me. i've even thought about getting rid of mine.

I would suggest the thick clear coat sheet put about 12 inches up on your hood. I got that on mine and unless you look close you can't see it at all. You can wax over it to. Cost me $130CAD I believe installed. As for bug deflectors wearing off paint, thats only if your missing the little rubber tabs with two sided tape that stick to your hood to keep the deflector from rubbing.

I have a "perfect fit" hood deflector. I think it is one of the best looking ones around. It does attach to the hood with clips (no drilling), but you put down protective adhesive plastic first, so it doesn't scratch at all.Go to my cardomain page for pictures. (see link below)

I have the oem front-end protector. I believe LeBra makes it and they just put pontiacs emblem on it. I took it off for the first time in 2 years the other day and had a line in on the hood. I believe some of the soaps may have leached into the paint. After a good waxing it's not as noticable but still there. As far as rubbing, it hasn't.

to do it again, and most likely in a year or so i'll have to get the whole front end repainted including fixing my lower front bumper, i'd like to get that invisible film that goes over the whole front end. mavrik has some clear film that goes over the top of the hood about a foot or so up, but i'd probably do the entire front end and hood and maybe the little strip above the windshield. i think it's well worth the money. up here, i get hit with so many rocks and bugs!

I have this one and really like it: http://www.weathertech.com/sto..._id=0It came with six plastic fasteners (only 4 are used) and some bump-ons to attatch to the hood. I found those were of no use to me, actually. I had them stuck on there at first, but realized they wouldn't do any good. This deflector sticks out from the hood quite a bit, so there is plenty of clearance between itself and the hood. I've had it off a few times, haven't noticed any paint damage from it.

I just installed a ventshade #20037 bug shield on my 2005 Vibe, so they fit the '05s. Whether they work, I don't know.

Hi Salsa, et al...I'm ditching my LeBra for a bug deflector but I'm having trouble finding the one I want. This FormFit that you show is the best looking one that I've seen. Is "FormFit" the manufacturer? Is there a model number to this? Been searching for a manufacturers site but all I find is Covercraft and they only show car covers and vinyl bra type things. Also looked up the Weather tech front end, I can't tell if that's the same by the pictures on their site. Let me know anything you can about this. I want to get it installed before I head to SC next weekend...Dave

Thanks for that link but as I mentioned, I was looking at that weather tech deflector. the white emblem on it doesn't look the same as the one pictured by Salsa. The contrast is so dark on the Weathertech picture that it's too hard to tell if it's the same or even similar enough. Salsa mentioned "FormFit" which it doesn't mention that at all on their site. Still unsure about that Weathertech one. ColonelPanic posted the same link a few posts up. That's where I went first. Then the searches for "FormFit" and "PerfectFit" really yielded nothing other than Covercraft.ThanksDave

I'm only finding it for Honda and Acura now.. I used to have a link with the formfit but I don't have it anymore... I wonder if they stopped manufacturing it or sold out to another company? I do know it's a Canadian company though. I'll keep looking

Well here ya go..... this is the only place that I have been able to find and it took me 6 hours of searching ...lolhere is a site you can go to. Click on hood deflector, then on the next page click on GM, when you get to the next page scroll down to the bottom. There you will see the hood deflector on a Vibe (second picture from the bottom) and part number you are looking for.http://www.distributiondad.com/index.htmlPlease! let me know what you find out! I am interested in one of these also....

Hey...I'm up to a few days in searching. A few days ago I found a model name of Focus with a model number of BVBG-0161. Can't seem to find it now but it was through Autobarn or JC Whitney or something like that. That one you link to looks like a Focus Auto Designs as well but the number is different. I dunno, I'm probably just going to go with the WeatherTech or see what else the local places can come up with.http://www.focusauto.com/focusauto2/Dave

I believe that Focus Auto Designs are the manufacturers of the FormFit brand.
