So I sorta explained before the plans for my car but I was just thinking what kind of psi I would be able to run the car at so its just below the 280 max hp that the tranny can take. Also anyone know if there is a way to beef up the transmission or if there is a stronger 6 speed I could put in our car like a Honda S2000 6 speed or an RSX-S 6 speed? Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to turbo it until next year (waiting for the warranty to run out), which I suppose is good so I can accumulate all the parts I want and just have them all installed at once. Crucial parts (excluding the transmission) are going to be about $6500 assuming the turbo kit from stafford is $3,500 (when they actually finish it).On a side note... I wonder which section this will get bumped to since it applies to both the FI section and the engine/transmission section

Not to mention that fact that the Vibe is more versatile and is more unique

yeah I think you said that they are trying to make a eurospec transmission but I'm saying will any other trannies fit or can I strengthen the current one? It didn't look like the celica site had anything but I'll check again just in case

I spoke to Stafford a few days ago, and they put the 6spd celica gt-s tranny in to the 5spd celica gt. He told me it bolted right up. It remains to be seen if it is any stronger though...time will tell...He said it was fun to drive though,..how 4th in the 6spd seemed like somewhere between 3rd and 4th in the 5spd...and how under boost it felt real good!Some say the 6spd maybe weaker?????My advise is to take one thing at a time...break the tranny 1st, then worry about fixing it !!!

But I have the 6 speed already lol I wonder what the weak part of the tranny is. Maybe if I knew I could figure out a way to strengthen it.

The final drive shears. You may be able to push it a bit with RP maxgear fluid in the tranny. It has the highest load ratings I've ever seen and is also low friction. I didn't like it in the winter and switched to Torco RTF but I don't know if Torco would hold up as well in a turbo.

ok so the teeth on the gears themselves are the weak link. I know this sounds kind of stupid but I wonder if I could get the gears forged and whether or not that would prevent the shearing

You could cryo treat the stock ones or buy c-one.

Some companies make aftermarket transmissions, I saw a 6 speed one in a recent import magazine I got. I'll try to fnid it for you so we can find out if it'll fit the Vibe.

The S2000 and RSX are RWD cars and their trans will not work unless heavy modding is done. I would look at other FWD's like possibly the PT Cruiser GT Turbo or Neon SRT manual trans made by Getrag. Those cars trans already can handle 215 HP & 230 Ft. of Torque from the factory and through Mopar Parts, there are three turbo kits to increase power. No changes to the trans are necessary with any of the Mopar upgrade kits. Or an aftermarket trans... $6,500 for all is too much though...

c2 gas i believe is working on stronger(3x)GEARS for the eurospec tranny.they should fit your tranny just with different ratios.theres tons of post over there about it.you may have to search though.c-one also makes a set for like 3000 dollars but thier gears ratios are more for road racing.

Hmmm I wonder which way would be the best to go.... so I have about 3 choices then: C2 eurospec, C-One racing geared, or try to get the stock ones cryo treated

Okay, Why don't u do this. See how much u can get a Scion tC tranny. That is a 6-speed. Since that tranny is made to handle more torque. It should be able to handle higher boost = ing more horses. More horses, the happier we are.Inder Singh

Yeah the problem is does it fit in the Vibe? Our transmission is actually fairly compact (hence toyota's bragging rights to having the lightest engine and tranny combo in its class)

If u're plannin on keepin ur Vibe, then there's always room to modify the underbody or even the cabin. That is, if u have the $ to do that. Just sayin.Inder Singh

Hehe very true, we'll see I still got another year to save up money since I'm not going to do any severe engine mods until the 3 year warranty is up (the january after this coming one).
