i can't believe the ceo made me make this. evidently, he is creating instructions on how to use his remote control. it took me about 3 hrs or so to make this, partly because it had been a while since i used illustrator. all he gave me was a crude drawing and a tracing of the outline of the actual remote. it turned out alright i guess.

Ahh, then that would make sense as to why you are doing drawings like that.

(removed)! that's funny but ya, i can relate. i haven't gone to that far of extremes, but i did have to make up a cheat sheet for my mom to use the TV/VCR/DVD combo system we have upstairs.

My most recent creation is more of an "anti-technology" device. For a 2 finger typist like me, it's incredibly frustrating to pound away, head down to be sure of striking the right keys, ONLY TO LOOK UP AND FIND i'VE WRITTEN THE WHOLE *&$%# PARAGRAPH IN CAPS!My solution is (Ta Dah!): The BCLOD (Bill's Caps Lock Override Device), a precisely bent piece of aluminum that fits over the 'Caps Lock' button and prevents my fat fingers from inadvertently triggering it. Tranquility is mine at last!

Cool. I have been at it for nearly five years. I got out of school with a graphic design degree and found myself in an area largely devoid of design positions. I tried to pound out a living doing freelance work, but most small businesses are not willing "to pay someone for what they can do on their own computer in Word" Or so I heard one time. Despite the lack of design opportunities, there were a lot of printers in the area.... To make a long story short, I put my portfolio away and got into a printers prepress. I still do some freelance design, but mostly for friends & family. I have not filled out an invoice in nearly two years.
