Thats right....I bought a new car. Don't worry, the Vibe isn't going anywhere. I bought a tan colored 1989 Volvo 240 wagon. I studying for a business major at school but I want to mesh business w/ automotive as a career so i'm doing a self-study w/ the volvo. It's basically my educational tool. I'm working on the ASE program and will practice the hands-on side of things w/ the volvo. I owned an '86 240 wagon as a first car so i'm somewhat familiar with these vehicles. This one has a mint body on it but needs some tranny, exhaust, and brake work. Hopefully it will turn out to be a decent educational tool for me. I'll see if I can get a pic of my wagons up.

That's cool. Ya know, everyone I've ever known that has owned a 240 sometime in their life wants it back.

I think that those Volvo's shared the same headlights with the Mustangs from 1987-1993 .Those Volvo's are little tanks. That inline 5 cylinder engine is strange and doesn't make a lot of power, but they tend to last for a long time.Quote, originally posted by philndz »I studying for a business major at school but I want to mesh business w/ automotive as a career so i'm doing a self-study w/ the volvo. That's really cool! It's very similar to what I want to do for a career. But I doubt that I'll get ASE certified since I don't really want to do the mechanical work myself. I'd rather run my own shop and hire some mechanics for the hands-on work. What is it exactly that you'd like to do for your career with this kind of education that you're persuing, if I might ask? This sounds pretty cool!

This sounds pretty cool!It would probably be something real similar....running a shop or something like that....but I want the knowledge in order to better service people...and to be able to advise the mechanics etc. I also want to build and restore cars as a hobby for the rest of my life so I need a good knowledge base. PS: This car is a 4 cylinder....5's came about in the 90's sometime. This one makes 115hp and has 240,000 miles on it.
