Didnt Race, but went to drags at Milan :)

Post by Evanshall »

i have to say, after hearing so much for my whole life, its nice to see how it actually is, alot less formal then i thoughmy friends brought (the cars that raced) 1970 Mustang (w/ I6 engine) (ran high 17s) 2001-2003 mustang (ran mid 16s,automatic) mid 90s camero with v6 (ran 16s as well, automatic) and a escort wagon (ran high 17s) and a mid 90s Camero with LT1 350 modified (ran high 13s this time)i was very impressed with:overall feelingmusic at venue(good classic rock, but this is just me)organized but not intimidating setup, easy goingnessi saw some real nasty cars, of course there were 8 second modifieds, but what impressed me most was a 13 second GMC Jimmy "Typhoon" it had a dealer plate on it (no idea why) even though my friend were some of the slowest runs of the day, they were some of the most fun to watch, i was begged to race the vibe, but ill just be honest, i didnt have mommys or daddys permition and even though i coulda been singed by a 18 year old easy, something on my concious said "no" even though i know i coulda probably takin either of the V6 mustang or camero (well would abeen close being i havnt ran before)i remember a few nice cars taht looked stock, 13 second Jimmy, 10.7 second New Corvette, some 12 second Jaguar XKR(i think), 14 second old model nissna sedan(a real sleeper, no sign of mods besides turbo whining when it ran, and slightly larger wheels) was impressed by SRT-4 neons, and had to love the lone 12 second harley, i know sportbikes can do 11 seconds stock, but there no were near as cool as harleys IMHO, especially with some badass 60 year old dude riding iti thought it was cool as hell when i got to ride in the mustang for for one of its runs, we ran against a F250 Turbo Diesel, uhg we got our asses handed too us funny as hell having some big truck pass you at 50mph (we had better take off) just wanted to shear, pretty cool, id recommend it, street racing may seem cool, but this stuff is as cool if not cooler if you got a group of friends to do it with, id like to race, no idea iff ill have mods by next race(im hoping and praying ill get the money) but either way should be a blast, and im praying when i do get a chance to race i can duplicate motortrends 15.7 1/4mile time, some other mag i think did 15.3, but i cant find it so im not counting that ill see if i can get the video of the Escort wagon, racing the 70s mustang, its fun to watch trust me, i recorded it hehe
