My Vibe used 33L gas for 390km, while 300 is highway 90 local.According to official number, it should use around 27L, that is a huge difference. I have less than 1000 on my Vibe right now, so is this the reason? How much do you use per 100km on average?

It take around 3000 to 5000 km to have a full brake in.After 25 000km, I'm driving more then 500km (sometime close to 600) with 40l of gas.Don't worry, you will get better and better gaz milage after few tanks of gas.

Yup its useful, helps a bit more on take off and really adds some power in the higher RPM range. Some people would argue that it doesn't do anything but I have noticed a lot with it on. Engine sounds different, it has more response when you put the foot down... and I drive a lot with the foot down lol.
