Not exactly 'getting the word out'...

a couple of things i've noticed since getting my vibe:1) the number of people that look at it and ask "What kind of car is that???" One of my work friend's even asked if this was the first year they were out!2) The people that DO know about the Vibe but don't know that it's the same car as the Matrix underneath and has a Toyota engine/transmission. Many of which thought about getting a Matrix because they like Toyota engines even though they thought the Vibe looked better!3) Aside from the near invisible 'PONTIAC' on the rear hatch 'handle', the car does not have the word 'PONTIAC' on it anywhere!! I haven't really looked but don't all the other Pontiac models have the chrome 'PONTIAC' on them?Thought I'd share....

Yeah all we have is the pontiac symbol... hahawhat I find really funny is when I hear the sales guys up front try and tell a potential customer the Vibe is safer and better then the matrix... and they will argue with me when I tell the sales person (not in front of the customer) that they are identical.

I'm not getting too many of those "what kind of car is that" out here. I'd guess it's because I'm starting to see quite a few Vibes around town.

What I usually get is "Is that a GT or a Base?". I never get what kinda car is it cuz there are so many of em in Michigan. Then, also people think that we have the 2.2 out of the LS Caviler. Which I hate. Not a big fan of American cars myself. I pretty much drive a Toyota. Inder Singh

I have been asked on numerous occasions, "Is that one of those new hybrid cars?" I wish! One clerk at the quickie mart asked me if I had a base or GT, he's probably the only Vibe-savvy cat I've ran into thus far. I did have a guy with a new BMW actually asking me about the car, he seemed to like it pretty well. Vibe's still a rare sight in these parts, so it gets lots of stares... You just don't see them every day here.

Haven't been to MI since the Vibe came out, but from what it sounds like, at least half of total Vibe production destined for sale in the states must go to MI. The other 49 states gets what's left. lol

I guess that is what happens when you live near "Motor City."

Let's jus say there are about 10 people at my school who drive a vibe. Not one is a GT though. All autos, jus like mine. Not a big fan of my auto, but, hey, it gets me around. I see at least 5 vibes a day, jus goin to school and back.Inder Singh

I've seen one GT in my town, but a handful of base Vibes. Came across a guy in a shiny new two-tone Neptune the other day, pulled up next to him, we grinned at each other, and I sped off.I really need to get a genvibe.com decal for the back end.. I've seen someone with the type I want, where it's the digital-looking font and like, two feet wide or something...

Now that you mention it, I don't know if I've seen a GT besides my own. I know when I bought mine it was the first one the dealer got in. That was when I was living in Illinois and I know the dealer here hasn't ever had one in stock.
