Satellite head unit... what looks good?

Okay, one day, if dealerships and GM cooperates, I may have a new Vibe (I started buying a Vibe in March, and still trying to get a 5sp w/ M&T and power that's not silver or white ; but, gosh darn, the car seems to fit all my criteria )...Anyways, I presently have Sirius in my VW, and I want to stay with Sirius over XM. So, tell me, what would be a good radio to put into the Vibe? WHat looks nice and clean? What fits nicely? Can it be done for about $350 (not including the Sirius pieces parts)? etc etc.....hjwii

Seriously, I would not get the Moons and Tunes if you're gonna change the radio. Because it was a pain to change the radio. Unless you want to go through the whole mess. But I prefer less work. Right now, I have a Kenwood MP-622. MP3 player. That radio is compatiable with Sirius. All Kenwood's are compatiable with Sirius. I like mine. But, if you want a radio that will look good, try the Kenwood MP625. Really nice radio. I don't know much about Alpine or any of the other companies. What you could do is go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City, and ask them what radio is compatiable with what. You will also need to buy a kit if you don't plan on doing a custom job yourself. What you're gonna need for the install.Radio of course.dash kitantenna adapter (unless you don't listen to the radio)10 mm socket w/ wrench w/ a couple of extensionsThe dash kit comes off pretty easy. Just be careful as you're pullin it off though, you may break the brackets on top. Jus kinda pull on the bottom of the dash kit to get the kit out. There are a couple of harnesses that you may want to unplug also. To make the job easier. IM me if you run into any problemsInder Singh

Well, AFAIK, Kenwood is your best bet for Sirius tuning...Your other options are Panasonic and Clarion. I know nothing about Clarion, and I've heard mixed feedback on Panasonic...This page will give you a list of current headunits available:
http://www.sirius.com/servlet/...98101To correct one thing above, not every kenwood headunit is sirius compatible -- but any kenwood that is satellite radio ready is automatically sirius ready...kenwood doesn't do xm.Also, you need a wire harness for the installation as well.

Honestly, Kenwoods are annoying in my opinion, minus their higherend models. The panasonics are okay... But I'd get an extended warranty on ANY of them. The most problematic units I see are all Kenwood, Panasonic, or JVC.

I dunno. I have yet to have 1 problem with my Kenwood (knock on wood). I love it. Also, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So, I say whatever you like. Alpine makes some great radios but, I don't think that they are Sirius Ready. I think they are XM ready. Not sure. Can someone clarify that for me. ThanksInder Singh

I also have Kenwood head unit (KDC-X569 - 2003 model) in my Vibe (going on 1 year with no problems yet). I also have a Kenwood Sirius tuner attached as well. Here are a couple nighttime pics of the unit:

Nick's Kenwood is quite nice...I wouldn't NOT reccomend it. And yes...i'm opinionated...also remember I only see the low and mid-low end models.. mid and high end are often exceptions to the rules..Alpine does not yet support Sirius radios...so you'd be looking at Panasonic, Kenwood, Clarion..and I forget what else..
