I have a 2004 Vibe and was wondering how putting a ram air or cold air intake on the car would affect the gas milage. Also if I do get a ram air or cold air intake which one should I get?

...I have a Cosmo CAI on my '03 GT and I havent noticed any significant decrease in gas milage. I dont know much about the ram air, but the CAI will give u a sweet engine sound..

I'm got a short ram intake installed on my GT and, according to the little notebook I keep, my gas mileage has improved about 3mpg since I installed it.Just one person's experience though

I dont see much of a difference maybe 1-2 miles less if that. CAI is easy to install just takes time. By ram air do you mean getting a different hood (w/hood scoop/s) and making the scoops usable?

My gas milage seems to be stable. But you could notice a little lower gas milage, because with an air intake it is so funny to floor the gas pedal!

Though my highway mileage seems to be a bit better.

i think it actually sounds better if you slowly excellerate, this makes a nice grumbling sound

I have a Injen CAI and have noticed no difference in mileage (~32mpg city) despite the occasional "punch" (just to keep that Prelude in front of me something to worry about)

I have a Cosmo CAI and my gas milage went to crap after I installed it... but it's not because of the intake... its because of my foot... the CAI somehow had some adverse effect on my right foot and i can never seem to pull it up off the floor! but i still get 24-28mpg regularly so I can't complain... I love my Cosmo Intake! especially when the engine is cold!

my fuel consumption has gone up, but I have been doing a LOT of driving since the install so I haven't had a chance to do regular normal driving to gauge the change. Turbo Carrie? its unsafe to drive and drool...

I don't know how much I would believe the claims that AEM has higher output than Injen, it seems like they should have the same. It is possible that the number is inflated.

With just a partial tank of gas, we noticed a 4mpg increase with the K&N short ram intake. I'm not sure how full the tank was when we installed. We just filled the tank, so we'll get a better idea next time at the pump.

My mileage stayed mostly the same after I installed my CAI. I think I did notice it go up slightly, maybe ~2 mpg. Now when I installed my Magnaflow cat-back though, my mileage has dropped about 3-4 mpg.
