Ok I been checking religiously at
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com to see if the price went down on the supercharger. Usually it is 200 to 300 cheaper than what GM sells. I checked today and found this.
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/r...98927The price went up!!!!!! I hope it is mistake because that is more expensive than what GM charges you. Also TRD Supercharger is only $2795 why did GM decide to bleed its customer out of 200 bucks more after they already spent so much on the car itself.OK If the Matrix and the VIBE have the same internals wouldn't they also have the same ECU's also. Just wondering if GM is only saying that. IF anyone can have a definate answer about this please post.

Check this thread
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9588 It appears that the way to go is with the TRD supercharger WITHOUT the ECU for around $1600, and then order the Unichip, install the S/C and have it custom tuned. It's still significantly less than the $2995 GM wants for their kit PLUS installation.Of course you need a nearby Unichip dealer/tuner with a dyno. Unichip will give you a free referral from their website.

Yes I know that way but that did not answer any off my questions. Also there is a thread concerning the SC with Unichip on
http://www.matrixowners.com stating problems. I am just wondering why cant the TRD SC and the TRD ECU work with the VIBE. What so differant that would cause the incompatiability between the vibe ECU and the Matrix ECU. That is my question.

The Matrix and Vibe have different ECU's. Thank GM for that one!As far as the Unichip goes, dont assume just because Unichip North America refers a local tuner (if any) that the tuner will tune on your particular model car or that they can successfully tune the Unichip with SC. The success lies in the skill of the tuner!

probably the other way around. they might not be selling like they thougt they would and are trying to get some money back .i dont know. but you usually see mark-ups from dealers not the manufacturers

They should cut the price in half and then they'd sell like crazy and they'd still be making money!

Gm's new plan is to make money not sales.Like the SSR the price was going to be around 30Kthen it hit the show room floor at 45K thats more then a 1 ton duelie. The only number they care about now is profit.I also like how they raise there prices, they tell you the price only went up $700 from last years model. But they dont to tell you they raised last years model 3 times.
