G6 is a nice looking car. Kudos to GM for actually lighting the door and steering wheel controls! Most cars don't anymore for decontenting, but try using them at night and you always hit the wrong one! This car has a lot of promise, but the one I am really looking forward to seeing is the GTP with the 3.9L VVT DOD engine and 6 speed manual. That car, as long as they don't screw up the suspension settings, is going to rock!PS Steering wheels: I wouldn't care if they had the same steering wheel in every car they made, if it was a really nice one that was pleasing to the eye. This one doesn't fit that description. GM should take a look at Mazda 3 spoke wheels, and the new Subie 3 spoke wheels, and get the hint (or even the 3 spoke in the Solstice production car that was touring the autoshows this fall, it had a nice 3-spoke too!).

Any price info on this vehicle?

Quote »Any price info on this vehicle? Not yet...Probably won't see prices for another month...My guess is, though, it'll be within a few K of the GA...I did have one slight heart-breakign setback in my research...VC was kind enough to make me question the availability of a fully manual transmission...and currently, there are no plans for one -- only the manumatic in the GT (and possibly GTP). I'm HOPING they'll bring one out for the GTP version...since that's the car I really want anyway!

I did a quick net search and although I can find plenty of articles that say this, I couldn't find a specific GM source. Yet, the magazines and writers must be getting this information from GM, as they all are saying it is a sure thing. Not up in the air. I think we'll get it. However. it definately won't be available on the 4 door. If I find a GM source to confirm it, I will definately post it.

Is is just me or did they pass on the Vibe's instrument cluster and air vent designs on to the G6? Good idea, IMHO.

Has anybody seen the G6 teaser ads they have been running during the olympics? It is something like 5 seconds long, and is simply a black screen with white lettering. I cannot remember what it says exactly, but is is something like "Are you ready for the new G6?".

I thought it was a great touch. Speaking of touch, that's how they want you to find the controls at night now... that's why the Vibe's driver's power window switch has more ridges on it.

It is built on the Epsilon platform - Saab 9-3, Opel Vectra, Malibu, etc. Replaces the Grand Am.

I was bored today, so I downloaded the owner's manual for this car... The driver information center it has tells you friggin' everything... Even lets you know when the battery in your key fob becomes weak... Wow. A G6 buyer had better like that radio though, since I don't think you can swap it out. Appears to me that if you do, you'll cripple this thing. Won't be able to see any important warning messages, probably can't customize any of the car's user-programmable features, etc, etc...Pretty sweet car though.

hey Meathead. I was looking at articles about that Oprah thing and the G-6 giveaway. It was all set by GM. Oprah didn't put out a Dime for it. But anyway it was pretty cool for that to happen to those who are less fortunate!
