Change holders causing too much noise?

I put my quarters in the little change holder to the left of the steering wheel yesterday, and that night noticed the most annoying rattling noise. After looking for ten minutes I finally realized, like an idiot, that it was just the quarters all hitting each other!Does no one else's do this? Same thing happens with the two little slots by the e-brake.

I removed mine and replaced it with a blank insert.Quote »Same thing happens with the two little slots by the e-brake.Same thing. I had too many crumbs collecting in there, so I replaced it with a blank insert.

I've never kept change in those holder because I dont' want to give anyone a reason to break into my car. Unfortuantely it does happen around here.I've been thinking of getting another button like the rear glass release and hooking it up to my garage door opener.Speaking of this panel of switches etc. I decided to relocate the Security LED closer to the steering wheel. That way it's mroe noticable from the outside. As for the slots by the e-brake, it just collects dust. Very annoying.

I have used both both of them. And they rattle just enough to irritate you. I usually don't have change in them unless I am going downtown and I know I will have to use the meters. Another one of those good ideas in theory, but not in practice

Actually..the only storage I don't use is the change holders... I use both the storage compartments in the back of the trunk, on the sides. I use the storage compartment just behind the seats to hold all my power stuff for my stereo, keep a fire extinguisher in with the spare, some tools in the armrest, as well as the XM remote, some electrical tape, and my insurance/registration in the top part of the armrest..the pockets in the doors..the pocket behind the driver seat has my space blanket, and the glovebox is filled with stuff..

I make good use out of every bit of storage I have in the Vibe... Very nice. I also added the Vibe backpack, mounted to the back of the driver's seat, for even more storage.I still have the coin holder mounted on the dash, but I rarely ever use it. Does in fact rattle. But, not as bad as when I have several dollars of change thrown in the compartment to the left of the wheel. Good idea on replacing the console coin holder, the only thing it was ever good for was getting filled up with spilled coffee and collecting gunk in the slots... I took a pair of pliers and yanked it out today, replacing with a blank I removed to install a switch on the dash.
