To all my fellow Canadians out there - Happy Canada Day and Happy Long Weekend! My office decided to close for July 2nd as well so I'm off for 4 days! Going to my parents place today as they live on a lake and its my friend's birthday so I'm going stop by her place for a BBQ. Doing some shopping with my mom tomorrow for dresses for my brother's wedding. Might be going strawberry picking this weekend as well. Whats everyone else's plans for the holiday?

I plan on relaxing, enjoying some sun and being thankful I don't have to work heh.I'd go watch fireworks but this town's fireshow sucks and its a real pain trying to get out of the park afterwards.

Woo hoo! Long weekend! I'm in a VERY good mood with my condo sale being final, house shopping, drinking some wine to celebrate, and the LONG weekend! Hope you all have a great long weekend. This will be my first Canada Day in Ottawa if you can believe that (since I've lived here since '99).

Technicly I am still Canadian so HAPPY CANADA DAY TO US ALL!!!! WHOO HOO. Actually this will be my first ever cananda day not spent in canada so very doubtful I'll get fireworks... Oh well its still a long weekend for me cause monday is the US day so I get that off... which is kinda lame for me cause monday is my day off work anyway... so either way I would have had it off lol.

Yeah that kinda sucks about the Monday. But since you're a transplanted Canadian, its time to start "educating" them in Canadian ways up there - start by drinking lots of beer tomorrow and shooting off some of your own fireworks. Apparenty some "young people" in Toronto renting an apartment set off a Roman Candle and started a fire. Duh. Saw that on Global news tonight. Guess they were trying to get an early start to the weekend but forgot to STEP OUTSIDE WHEN LIGHTING FIREWORKS!

Usually on canada day I drink Molson Canadian but don't believe thats available up here.... Going to Seward over the weekend, suppose to get in some partying then. Now because I just started working here I won't get paid for the holiday monday. Because of that, I would lose pay if I did not work tuesday WHICH I am getting off because my day off is monday. However because I won't be getting paid for monday I was told to come in tueday anyway. Plus one of the other guys is not going to be in so I might as well come in and be useful.

Well I'm not quite so patriotic because I don't drink Canadian. Instead its either wine or kilkenny for me. Although I failed to buy any kilkenny yesterday and the Liquor stores are closed today. Did get a couple of bottles of wine though!

Happy Canada Day to all! While not a Canadian, I was married there, and consider it one of my favorite places. We hope to move there in retirement, which brings me to a question for all you current Canadians. I've seen in some real estate adds "all Elfs included". What the heck are they talking about?

What is also funny is that Niagra Falls on the canadian side which sets off fireworks from Victoria park for the amaricans puts on a better show then the amarican side of the falls... And its safer.

We were watching the hill on TV and saw them, so we went out to see them come by. We can hear lots of partying, but we're not actually in the party. Going for dinner tonight.
