The AFTERMATH - 2004 GenVibe Michigan Super Rally 2

Chalk up another in the books, the 2004 GenVibe Michigan Super Rally 2 has taken place today and overall was awesome! Weather was mostly sunny all day with temps in the lower 70s, perfect rally weather. Here is a brief rundown on what occurred. Expect a full article this week and all pictures have been posted in the Gallery (link below). * Most of the expected members did show up, we counted almost 40 Vibes and 1 Matrix on site during the day.* GM sent 7 engineers from NUMMI (most from the plant in California primarily focusing on Quality Assurance) out here which included a few other reps from NUMMI that are based in Michigan. They gathered feedback and checked out all the Vibes.* GM's Marketing, Accessories, and Quality Control departments all had representatives on site. This includes a ton of freebees that were raffled off (shirts, floor mats, bumper protector, cd cases, etc.) plus some other free non-raffled items.* Vibe's Brand Quality Manager, Jeff Strausser, was also in attendance again this year and was a huge help as he coordinated having the dealer's Service dept. open just for us - minor issues were fixed with any owners on site.* The Vibe GXP concept and Vibe Autocross were also present to look over, oogle, and sit in during the day.* Food was cooked by the dealership for the attendees.* Plus the ability to meet and greet other fellow Vibers (and Matrix owner ) and look over various mods.* Thanks to Joseph Pontiac (Fenton, MI) as well for providing the facilities and food. Also, Toasted7 for providing the awesome placards and nametags (great idea)! That's the quick rundown. Expect the full article this coming week. Pictures are available in the Gallery linked below. Look for others to post their own pics - for those that were not in attendance, we held up our word to take a TON of pics for you all! We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next rally plus those who were not able to make it!Picture Gallery:http://gallery.genvibe.com/gallery/04MI

My buddy and I had a great time. I got my Vibe out of the shop this morning, and made it there in time to hang out for a few hours. Unfortunately, I got a lot of great ideas for my vibe, but I don't have the money to do them... Yet. :-)

Hello everyone,Well.... This was my first meet (rally) I have ever gone to and I had a great time. It was really fun, especially when we got to take a ride in the Turbo Vibe . Good job by the Devlop on your car. I was really impressed. Wish we could've taken a ride in the GXP and the autocrooss Vibes today. Would've been cool. Inder Singh

What a great time! Even better than last year with all the raffles provided by GM and the food provided by Joseph Pontiac. I can't thank both of them enough! The Joseph Pontiac Service Department also deserves some credit for being open on a Saturday for us. I also want to thank NUMMI for sending so many people over as well. It was great to meet even more people this year and answer questions about modifications for some of the newer members. Also, thanks to those who made long trips to come and be with us. It wouldn't have been the same without you! Weather was perfect too. I can only hope that next year will be just as good if not better! Thanks to all of you that attended. I look forward to seeing you again next year along with those who missed it and make a point of making it next time.

It was nice meeting rasermon and Nick again, along with meeting scherry2 and a few others. Many thanks to those responsible for organizing this event. Were it not for the Flint car show, I'd have stayed longer and met more of you. Missing out on those freebies is a bummer! Thanks again, folks. You did good.

It was great putting a lot of faces with the names at the meet. I wish I could have stayed a little longer though but my 4 year old was getting a little tired. But, I got a lot of great ideas to mod my Vibe, I think new rims will be first, then tinting then dropping a couple of inches then a SLP conversion then, oh wait I need some money don't I.....Anyway thanks to all for a great time can't wait to do it again!!

The meet was great and I had a really good time. Had to be one of the best meets yet! It was great getting to meet everyone (either again or for the first time). The NUMMI guys were great (and really funny too). It was well worth it and already looking forward to next year. The Autocross Vibe was amazing in person, the pics don't even do the paint job justice and the GXP ... do I need to say more?Thanx to Rich, Aaron and Nick and anyone else involved in getting it all together, great job!

Well, just like everyone else said, the meet was a success. It was good meeting everyone. I had a great time. D&B was a blast. I had a great time hanging out with Carrie, Hope and Phil. I met back up with them on today and hungout the majority of the day. Good times. Kinda funny, they kept taking turns riding in my car. I think they were just using me. Oh well, atleast they acted like they liked me.Had my first kill today too with Phil in the car. He got footage, not sure if he'll put it up or not. It was a early 90s mustang gt. From about 30mph, we both gunned it and I walked away from him. It was great. Nothin like a 4 banger beatin a V8.

Devlop, your vibe is the greatest of them all for performance (from what I seen). Sorry I didn't go for a ride with you, got caught up chatting with other members. Damn, what a great time meeting all of you again. It was hard to say good bye....

Christian let me just say again that it really sucks you could not make it. I know everyone including myself were really looking forward to meeting up with you and everyone else. But it seems this past weekend had a few issues that just prevented a few things from coming together. That being said though I still had an awsome weekend and got about 132 pics on my camera alone. I used Hope's to take a few more including videos.Christian your flights just never happened, Carrie's was delayed... Hope's lost 2 hours and my MAF got messed up somehow on my install #1 of my Injen. It was really cool to meet all of you and get drunk with some of you. heh that was a good time. And riding in the turbo of Jeff's there blowing my car and an unsuspecting but very quickly schooled mustang heh. 9 min vid of that looks really cool complete with colour comentary heh. Not sure if you all want to hear some of those comments though, lots are in frustration about the MI road system and your "awsome" MI left. The meet itself was very interesting, got to meet the faces and people behind the names. I know I took a fair share of jokes about my MAF but I got my fair share in at Carrie including pics of her drooling and then passed out after those turbo rides. You know you had to much to drink when you ask everyone if the hotel has a pool when you were just in it the night before eh Hope? I also would like to see the video of the correct CAI install on my Vibe, awsome service from the girls, and rob as well as to the Service department who hooked me up with a brand new more powerful battery when it was pointed out mine was leaking acid.Dave and Busters was awsome, thanks to my sweety Hope for setting that up. Had a riot and man was my arms sore after that boxing game. What was weird when we left is people we didn't know parked next to our lined up Vibes... we have no idea who those belonged to... Thanks to Jeff showing us around or we would never have gotten to half the places hah. Toasted7 you left before we could call you on sunday to see if you wanted to come with us to the mall... Jeff joined us there and caught us at Victoria Secret. After some mini Golf at the end of sunday, goodbyes had to be said sadly and Carrie was forced to part with the turbo... oh and Jeff to. We went back to hotel and wrapped up the front facsia Jeff sold Hope to replace her own busted one on her Vibe. Sad thing is its sitting in my basement right now... the airport said it was to give for their flight... We'll have to ship it to Alaska. More goodbyes were said as Carrie and I dropped Hope off at Detroit Airport and headed back on our way back to canada, not knowing her flight turned out to be delayed after she got through customs. After a rest at my house I took Carrie back to the airport in TO for the last goodbye before driving home. Now here I sit kinda alone and bummed out... but with a lot of awsome memories.Cool meet guys!
