anyone out there change their grey plastic fenders with the monochrome package? If so...how much did it cost you? I know that this is an option for $300 when you buy from a dealer. Just wondering if it can be done aftermarket. XMan037

Just paint them. That gray plastic is the exact same plastic under the paint of factory monotones. It just gets painted to match.

You need a felx additive and the plastic has to be baked, I beleive for it to hold. It cost me $300 to get my rear bumper done.

I dont know if I trust getting them painted. I guess Id have to make some calls to body shops about it. But...if you can buy from the dealer for around the same price, I would just get them replaced. Does anyone out there know how much it costs for dealer replacement or a paint job on the entire sha-bang?

paint jobs are like most things: quality vs cheapif you want a good quality paint job, it's gonna cost some $$$$if you want cheap, go to MAACO

lol..Id rather order the parts already painted. Paint jobs never match the original factory paint anyway. Im sure someone out there has replaced them. I cant throw on the sport package until I do this!

When you order the parts, they come unpainted, known as "paint to match."They'd still have to be painted at a dealer. No sense in doing that.

I have wanted to do this for a long time now, but I want it to look good, not an Earl Shibe (sp?) or MAACO job.

hmmmmmmm......I was under the assumption that the parts were already painted, like the sport package. If thats not the case, then who has gotten theirs painted? And how does it look? And how much did it cost? If the option costs $300 at the dealer, I wonder how much they would charge to paint the existing ones?

Sports package only comes pre-painted in select colors:Salsa, Abyss, and Satellite. All other colors would come primed, but again, needed to be painted by the dealer.I sense that you'll likely be paying more than $300 to have them painted outside the factory.

even if they come prepainted from the factory, they are not guaranteed to match perfectly. that's why most good bodyshops will want you to bring the car in so they can color match.

Definitely can be done, but it'll cost ya. I've wondered how a Vibe would look with cladding painted, but in a different color than the body... For instance, my Neptune vibe with satellite cladding... hmm

I have always have thought about painting my cladding to match the Salsa color of my car until I saw a mono tone Salsa at a dealer last week. Pretty, but kind of boring. I like my 2 tone with 04 cldding better. Looks more sporty!
