Well, my fiance and I are new owners of a 04 Vibe GT. Bought the car on Friday and put 245 mile on it on Saturday. I can't believe how much fun this car is to drive. We bought the car because we have three dogs, two labs, and a French Bulldog (fiance's) and we need something that is going to get good mileage for our longer trips. We live 500 miles from her parents and 1700 from mine. Anyway, I am looking forward to learning all I can about this great little car.

Welcome to GenVibe! I'd say that GT is gonna satisfy your need for speed, and your need for carrying! I'd definitely reccomend getting some sort of carpeting in the back, and on the back of the seats. If you take out the tie-downs from the rails, i'm sure your pups will love just hanging out with all that room in the back! (And it'll keep your back seats fur-free, too!)I'll be the first to tell you that the GT is a GREAT highway car. I've driven mine back and forth from Jersey to Atlanta about 10 times now, and i'll be doing it again in August (about 870 miles one-way). I'll definitely reccomend plopping down some cash for an XM radio if you'll be doing those long trips!Again, welcome to GenVibe!

Congrats!! And good to see you got the '04 before Pontiac tried to make the Vibe look like a minivan with the '05 grills. Welcome to GenVibe.

Sorry, forgot about all the important info. The Vibe is Shadow with the Moon/Tunes, power package, and monotone appearance. I like one solid color (my humble opinion). We put about 300 miles on it this weekend and at the first fill up 34.2 mpg. I did the numbers three times to make sure that I was correct. Still recovering from whiplash while teaching the finace to dry manual (jk) ! We got the car out the door for 18,500 tax, title and license included. I don't know about what future plans. We have a wedding to pay for in October so that takes precedence. Probably some sort of intake system. Other than that I don't know if I'll do anything. Thanks for all the welcomes.

trdvibe, Forgot to add that you live in the best state that I have ever visited. I spent 7 weeks in the Fairbanks area for a rotation for school. I would move up there in a heartbeat if the fiance would come along. Could you send me some salmon

well thanks. but you LIKED fairbanks? really??? i was there last summer for 3 months... and i hated it. LOL. too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. guess i'm really picky! but they say, you either love it or hate it there. did you get down to anchorage at all?

I went though Anchorage on the way to Seward. I only spent the weekdays in Fairbanks, the weekends were in Denali, Seward, places like that. I HATE the highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks, too many RVs with people that don't know how to drive them!

ok. that makes more sense now. yes, the parks hwy is a pain in the (removed) for sure. but i try and pass as many rv's, campers, and trailers as possible this trip i managed to get some vid of me passing a few cars.. but in the passing lanes. didn't want to freak out my passengers too much! LOLbut, back on topic! glad to see more and more members everyday!

Welcome to GenVibe and congrats on your new GT! Love that monotone Shadow (my first choice before I got Abyss). Glad to hear you're already seeing great mileage! And that you convinced your fiánce to drive a stick! Way to go!

[QUOTE=And that you convinced your fiánce to drive a stick! Way to go![/QUOTE]Now that see is learning, very quickly I might add, the difficult part becomes letting me drive it once in a while! I guess I taught her too well.
