I have a spearco intecooler. I'm not sure on the gains, but I know it helps a lot. The only problem with having an ic is that it creates a but more lag because of all the extra piping that is needed to run the air to it, but its worth it. I know faultline has one also. He might be able to give a better answer.

Yeah, its attached to the front bar on the back side. Plenty of room.

ya, so what would an ic do for a non turbo/s/c vibe? will it make any diff?

I don't think it would be any better than a cai. When you force air, it gets compressed, which of course heats up. That's why the ic is so useful on fi'ed cars. I don't think I have any pics of the ic from inside the engine bay. If I have time, I'll take a couple. I think my imagestation has some closeups of the ic from the outside.http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289053071

hmm. so you wouldn't have a cai then, right? the ic is just a much bigger badder cai in a way! or is that wrong?

Well, actually, I do have a cai. Most turbo systems have a short ram for the intake, but Rick designed this kit to have a cai also. The filter sits behind the left fog light, similar to the cai's for our cars. Of course, the piping is custom though because it has to run to the turbo instead of the throttle body. Basically, any little bit helps with fi.

Maybe the low side of that for a base but the 2zz already has a factory header that's hard to beat.

Having an IC w/o a turbo or SC is useless. A turbo , or SC will heat up the air during the compressing process. An IC will cool down the air before it goes into the motor. the air is already cool for a N/A motr, but CAI's are designed to suck in the coolest air possible for N/A motors, or in Devlops case , before the turbo. Either way, the idea is to get the coolest air into the motor, as the cooler air is denser=more power.

An intercooler for the SC would be an interesting idea. I read that the new Chevy Cobalt SS (with supercharger) will be intercooled and boost will go up to 9 or 10 psi. That sounds like its going to be a nice set up.
