And another consumer sees the light!WOOOO. J/K. Welcome to the world of Toyota dependability. I'm sure you'll be happy. Honestly, all the issues I've had with my car have either been my fault (curiosity killed the car ), or little things like rattles, most of which have been successfully repaired.

I am really surprised that FORD is still in bussiness. I hear nothing but horror stories from that company. Since they bought VOLVO the quality of there cars are turning to crap. My little sister has a S60 and it is at the dealership every other week because something went wrong with it. The newest thing wrong with it that the windshield has a stress fracture in it and they are refusing to fix it.

Your post doesn't mean **** to me. Just because 1 car out of 999,999,999 didn't have a problem doesn't make FORD a quality car manufacture. FORD is probably the worse car manufacturer out there this day and they really should stop selling lemons to hard working Americans

well I do not know hoq Mitusbishi has anytthing to do with FORD but isn't Mitus problem with how they allow customers finance their cars. I am not sure about the quality since I never own one and don't know anyone that has one.I would of bought an EVO VIII  if my current job wasn't contracted to end in 06 and I would of learned how to drive stick just for that car

good grief! ok ok ok! so you don't like ford.... but what's with the attitude?? BOTH of you guys. geeze. there's always lemons to every auto maker... some more than others LOLi myself am not a big ford fan nor a gm fan. i bot my vibe because i knew it was a toyota and i didn't like the looks of the trix. doesn't make me a gm hater. i've owned several and my folks have owned several... and some have had probs while others have not. my 98 GA was a pos! i've heard plenty of probs about ford vehicles, but not any more than chevy and certainly NOT more than dodge/chrystler/jeep. i like a lot of ford's styling and i like the mercury's. too bad they got rid of the cougar... again! if only they'd have come out w/ that svt model they said they'd come out with back in '99. kinda like the 5 spd s/c for the vibe! LOLand if you had as many issues as you state w/ ford products, i don't blame you for believing they are crap. but on the other hand, i know several people who have had nothing but success w/ them... so go figure. shrug. i am a toyo fan, but i've heard others have issues w/ theirs too. so it doesn't matter who makes the car, it's just the probability that there will be some duds out there is very high. just hopefully there are less duds than studs. let's all take a deep breath and relax. it's ok to vent, nothing wrong w/ that, but no need to take the defensive or offensive if someone simply disagrees. and no need to bombard someone w/ 50,000 posts... blah blah blah

vibepa, sounds like you had some bad luck with the ranger, I can't say if your probs were typical or not. There have been a numberr of complaints posted here about the Vibe, and some stories of dealerships acting in a way that makes you question how important customer satisfaction is to them, but they seem to be a definite minority. I hope and expect that you will be happy with the quality of your Vibe, I like mine

i have an '86 ranger with a V6 in it. over 150,000 miles and not a single problem. Except rust is beginning to show up now I also have a '98 ZX2 with 85,000 miles. It is a blast to drive. No major problems yet.My grandpa bought a 2001 Focus ZX3 and LOVES it! He has not had one single problem with it since he bought it brand new in 2001.So I guess if I were given a good price on a new Ranger, I'd probably buy it. Especially since there are TSBs on every prob that you'd had. It sounds to me like you just needed to bring it to a different dealership.

My Vibe is the first non-Ford product I've owned. Never had any serious issues with any of them, and they all got driven, a LOT. Cross-country trips, 100mi round-trip commutes to work, you name it.'99 Cougar - I put 85000 miles on it in 3 years and never any problems with the engine or anything else. Just routine maintenance items.'93 Thunderbird SC - Bought used with 55k on it. had trans rebuilt at 110k miles due to losing 4th gear - covered under used car warranty.'93 Escort GT - bought used - only thing that went wrong was the starter died. Cheap to fix. Totalled it in an accident.'93 Ranger 4x4 - Bought new - put 80k miles on it in 2 1/2 years - no problems.'91 Escort GT - no problems. Traded in '93 with 60k on it.

Vibepa, I concur with joatman; it sounds more like a bad dealer problem than a bad car problem. Almost every car manufacturer has a lemon or two come off the line (I've even heard a couple of MB and BMW horror stories). It comes down to the service departments to rise the brand above the rest. Did you even try visiting another Ford dealership? When you traded the Ranger in, did you get your full value for it? If not, I don't sympathize...you could have gotten a full refund under most states' lemon laws since you only had it a month.BTW, I'm not a big Ford fan myself! Glad to hear you got a Vibe, too!

My wife has a 01 Ford Sport Trac, 36k miles and no problems yet. It has actually been better than the Vibe as far as being problem free. Mileage sucks though...18 mpg ave. Great 4x4, we use it off-road alot.

The original Nissan Quest and the Mercury Villager were twins like the Matrix & Vibe.
