My dog, Teddy, has really bad colinitis and may not make it. I just found out today

aww. i'm so very sorry to hear that... how old is he? i know my dogs are like my kids.. part of the family..

Oh, I'm so sorry. Its so hard to lose a pet.

He's around 2 1/2 human years old. And he is a part of the family, even climbs up on the couch or recliner and watches movies with us, eats with us, and everything.He's losing fresh blood through his waste system often, but the vet says it could go either way. I guess all I can do is hope, eh?

Your dog looks almost like the one I had growing up that my folks had to put down... Always the loyal farm dog that went everywhere for years... chased a rabbit over the hay mower...Dogs are like family, you can never find one that quite replaces it.

That is really awful. I hope it all works out for the best. I love my dog like an only child and dread the day when I have to say goodbye.Best of luck to you and Teddy.

Well, he ate half a can of dog food today, so that's a good sign

Thats a good sign. Hope he gets better man.

The vet had him on a diet of water and cottage cheese, it's supposed to be easier for him to hold down. Today's the first day he's eaten more than a couple tablespoons of it at a time, and he also ate half a can of doog food (It was Pedigree brand). He has an appetite now, and he's physically active again, so I think the worst of it is over. Thanks all

Well, he's back up to his mischievious self again and seems to be 100% recovered. The only lasting thing is he can never have people food again, and he was practicaly raised on table food
