I know there are many threads about this topic but my question is differant. I just purchased a Injen CAI and I am wondering where would be a good place to take it to get it installed. I know it is a pretty easy install but I will feel more comfortable if I get someone that has a clue to install it. Would a regular garage be able to install it or should I look for a tuning/performance shop around my area to get it installed.Thanx alot

just about anyone with mechanical knowledge should be able to do it. if you know someone who is handy w/cars, ask them, bribe them with beer. you'd be surprised how easy it is. the hardest part is getting the damn thing wrestled into place, which requires no technical knowledge, just patience and elbow grease!!

if you're worried about a CEL, then take it somewhere that is able to read the codes if it comes on later.

Well I found a performance shop around me that charges 38 bucks an hour so I am all set. I just got to wait for the CAI to come in. It was shipped yesterday so I expect to have it by the end of this week.

Well I was surprised that I got the CAI delivered a day after I ordered it ptuning is a great place to shop. I am getting it installed on tuesday so I cant wait.I was wondering if anyone with a 2004 base/auto vibe that has a CAI installed can answer these questions for me.Have you had any problems with the CEL if so what was done to fix it?Also was the HP boost noticable? I love my vibe driving through the country and highways but when it hits a hill it turns into slug towing a RV. Does the CAI make any differance with power on going uphill? If so how would you rate it? Slightly Noticable, Noticable or Highly Noticable?Any help would be grateful

I have a 2003 and I would have to say its noticeable but its not like turbo boost. It does help with the uphill thing.

You will notice your engine will sound more agressive from the air intake. Personally I don't know if you will notice a difference other than that.

I installed mine my self and have had not problems. I have an auto and can feel the diference right off idle. More torque and better top end. My highway mpg is as good as before- I can go up some hills in overdrive where before I had to down shift. You will need to get some kind of exhaust system to get the maximum benifit from it. I have a straight through Magnaflow muffler and that works well enough. Highly noticable!

I did notice a little more power after the install of the cai and I did not get any cels so you should be fine. I have not towed anything so Im not sure about towing. I have gone up hills and it helps a little not enought to say wow or anything but a little better power.

I probably could but I don't have the tools, I live in an apartment and most of all I don't trust myself. So I rather pay someone that knew what he/she was doing to install it correctly.
