I got rid of my gas hog Suburban for a 2005 Vibe yesterday and the more I drive it the better I like it. It was the latest round of GM rebates that got me into the dealership but the only Vibe in stock sitting there looking at me while I was making a deal on another car finally sold itself to me - rebate or not!

Welcome! Glad to hear you chose the Vibe. Much more fun than a Suburban to drive I'm sure! What model did you get? Base, GT? Auto, manual?Lots of friendly people and good info here.

Base & auto but with power options, cruise, etc.. Would have gotten a 5 speed if they'd had one. Dealer in South Texas says he can't keep them in stock they sell so fast.

Welcome! You're one of the first (if not the first) 2005 Vibe owners on the forum!

I'm going to say you are the first 05 owner. Congrats on the car and welcome aboard. Some of us may not like the new front end.. myself included but its still a very awsome car.Auto is popular but 5 and 6spd rule!

No rebates at all on the 2005?

Only one Vibe in stock - perhaps the dealer meant he couldn't keep the Vibes in stock (whether AT or 5 spd). Last time I drove by the dealer I go to there were about 15-20 vibes sitting there, and the recents ads (on the '04's) were touting a $2,000 rebate, $1,000 conquest rebate, and a $1,000 discount for a total of $4,000 off msrp. Featured car was the base 5 speed at a net of $13,465 I believe. Of course a Chevy Suburban (GM) would not qualify for the Conquest rebate.

Dealer can't keep Vibes in stock at all - there was a $1,000 rebate on the 2005 model

Hi there, I'm a newbie too that just traded an Avalanche for a Vibe! Looks like a trend away from gas guzzlers. Got 33mpg on my first tank full (base 5spd with moon/tunes, power package). Anyway, love the new car and yes, 5 speeds were hard to find since my dealer had to locate one for us and there were only 4 in the entire state of NY. I got the '04 satellite with $4,850 off sticker including my $650 in gm card. Congrats on being the first of many new '05 members!
