As reported in Car and Driver,Pontiac will have a version of the Chevy Equinox called the Pontiac Torrent i late 2005 as a 2006 model. Not many details, but it will probably have a similar drivetrain (Chinese built V6!), but with unique Pontiac styling.

Not sure what to think about that just yet.......must be an acquired taste.

Well, I've heard that they are gonna stop production on the Aztek, so if that's the case, they would need to come up with something that is just as ugly. Looks like they've accomplished that.

Kinda has a Porsche Cheyene look to it. Not too bad.

The Equinox has a Chinese built 3.4 V6, not the 3.5 V6 Honda engine that the Vue has.

Looks nice as long as GM doesn't go with that same generic rounded dumb (removed) big grilled look like in that red one. I like the black one though.

i wouldn't worry about a high-po version of this...it's already in the works.i like the gm of today much more than the gm of, say, 5 years ago.

Hmm, this thing still reminds me a little of the Aztek, but maybe I would need to see it in the flesh. I hope these are not finalized pictures. Anyone have a pic of the new minivan they are coming out with? I bet this SUV will have a similar front end style to the new minivan for that Pontiac "family resemblance."
