Worst Nightmare Yet

My roommate had a party at my house while I went out with a friend. I came home the next morning to find that all my windows were busted out in my Vibe, the house all jacked up inside, and my room torn to hell. I contacted the police and they took a report. I contacted my landlord and he doesn't believe that the people at the underage drinking party would do such a thing. I found some drugs in the house as well and handed them over to the police. My landlord thinks that I planted the drugs in the house. As of now, I am getting an eviction notice for "lying" to my landlord. No more job, no more school of where I am living. I am at my parents right now with my Vibe in their garage. That was my day.

Ouch man... Hey look at the bright side. You still HAVE the vibe. It wasn't stolen. Windows can be fixed. And, you have a great resource here at genvibe! Sorry about your day man. I see you only have 27 posts, welcome to genvibe! (if I haven't already said that)

Some of the statements and actions by your landlord raises a big red flag.Sounds to me he is trying to cover things up ---and for that ---I would advise the police of his statements and actions. Example---"underage drinking party!"

Your landlord has a limited amount of things he can kick you out for...lyin is probably not one of them. He's just ticked and taking it out on a college kid. Fight back...

If it exceeds the $$ limit, go hire a lawyer. If not, take him to small claims court and get your money back. I favor the first since you will be able to tack on lost wages and time from work, and perhaps pain and suffering.

everyone is right. you should sue your roommate. However, in my infinite knowledge of Judge Judy, you can't sue for time off of work. That's not a reimbursable expense. I don't claim to be a law buff, I just know that she yells at anyone who tries this.
